I was wondering if you guys know how far along the whole flash thing is going (i caught something about it being nvidia's job?) When that comes along, would it be possible to add a 'Search on youtube' feature when exploring the zune marketplace, or even while exploring the artist menu?

Thanks

All I need is huge storage to plug in earphones with, to listen to my extensive 40 years in the making music collection. And hints on how to extend it.

1. Form factor and navigation: top marks. Even with my fat fingers, was able to easily navigate and find what I wanted, and the "related" music sections were pretty much what I would have said.

2. The Zune PC app. Speaking as a software engineer, this is a complete and utter disaster. It was pretty good at helping me organize what I had,(which was already organized, so that wasn't too hard) but unresponsive, buggy, crashed, froze, you name it, all within one day of usage. Took literally hours to load a small fraction of the storage capacity.

A hint: Lighten up on the IO. A lot of us are using networked drives and bluetooth USB connections. If you just read forward and cached a few items, like virtualy ever other UI app in existence, this would work much better.

3. The Zune marketplace. Has all the feel of a tourist trap giftshop. Absolutley Zero for the person who doesn't happen to listen what is playing on the radio already. When I had an IPod, I could get these playlists that would introduce me to interesting new music. I looked at yours, and it was uninspiring. Hint: Stop relying on the record companies to do your editing, and hire independent critics to make playlists, that just might happen to include that progressive act from Poland that is signed to a local label.Yours? TWO Hairband lists, yet more permutations of Beatles music, and ...hmm.. I would have mentioned more but the Zune app is frozen again. But as I recall, at least the Goth playlist knew it was just warmed over hash.

Nice hardware, and looking forward to using it. But I'll probablhy sit out on those Zune Socials, unless they are serving free booze.

I've always been frustrated that there aren't more ads for the Zune around. The public is basically out there discovering the device and service on their own. The reps at Best Buy are a representative cross section of the market that Ipod already dominates so the potential buyer goes to Best Buy and they get an Ipod loyal sales rep who knows nothing about Zune more than what they could learn in 5 seconds on the outside of the Zune box. There needs to be some evangelism out there folks. It makes me so sad that the folks at Zune have invested so much effort evidenced by the device and software, and then leave the marketing to a bunch of low level electronics store employees who are guaranteed to do a genuinely crap job of selling the service and the device. I hope the cross pollination from the Xbox crowd works otherwise I am fearing that the device will be discontinued in a few years and we'll all just be left with crappy old Ipods saying "geez, remember that cool device that came out for awhile? What was it called..." On a more postive note - GREAT job on the HD guys. What an amazing piece of hardware and software. Great work!

1. the quicklist option disappeared. i loved the quicklist option. it let me build a playlist based NOT on what i was already listening to, but if i had a bunch of random songs i felt like hearing, i could make a list on the fly.

2. there is no option to 'repeat track'. in my opinion, this is an EGREGIOUS error! i love to get lost in a single track and listen to it on repeat and this is not an option - i must continually hit the back button. which is not the end of the world. but as for settings for a device to play music, it seems like a HUGE oversight.

3. i hate that when i delete video from my library, it deletes it from my zune. if the video is already on my zune, there's no need for it to remain on my harddrive, taking up space, since the video is now on my zune. this wouldn't matter if i could turn off smart sync ONLY for video. far too much audio to have to sync it all manually.

to leave, i will echo the YAY CLOCK comments. love having a clock on there now. kinda wish it was a bit bigger? regardless!

re: Send Feedback to the Zune Team

We need more music: Golden Earring, Blof, Anouk and more Dutch music please. Also where can we find more AC/DC. How about making it possible to buy some of all those unavailable albums. It's very sad to see you search for an artist and every album you find is not available for purchase. You're losing money big time there.

Also the software needs more features: A proper equalizer, A more organized music list view. Also it would be nice to 'attach' the screensaver view as a desktop background so you can always see your now playing as your background even when Zune software is active in your tray.

Also, make cover art retrieval work properly instead of letting Zune software mess up my entire collection:(

It takes /forever/ to resync videos, and it makes me mad.

The quicklist is gone in the latest update, I am very sad.

I think you guys need to work on some things.

Also automatic sync is off, so that doesn't explain the random deleting problem.

I really hope that someone somewhere really is listening to the users and that progress is made following their feedback. It would be great if there could be a forum for constructive dualogue on how to improve the player.
