Just in case you aren't aware..

View your collection in "song" view, make sure the column for "Length" is selected. (Right click on an existing column header, click choose columns) Sort it by length after you've enabled the column, and drag the longer songs to a playlist.

I enjoy the autoplaylist option but there is one feature zune is missing that other media software has. This is "track Length". I like to keep all my D.J. mixes that are 35 minutes or longer all together on one playlist and can't with zune.

Is there a tagging system where you can tag each song individually irrespectively of the artist/album/genre? For example if I wanted to listen to a song according to my emotions I can just tag how that certain song makes me feel. Let's say a certain song makes me "happy" and "hyper" I'd tag both words to it. But say I wanted to listen to a "happy" "calm" song all I'd have to do is choose what emotions I want in some sort of search box and those songs I'd previously tagged with the search criteria would appear. Basically it's the same tagging system used on this internet webpage. The number of tags would be unlimited both in the searching and individual tagging of songs.

Thanks for the info. I find myself listening to my "New This Week" playlist the most. I have them sorted by date added, however, I find that they actually show up in the playlist with the last song of the album first. Is there any way to get them in the correct order?

Have to agree w/ Segerone -- automatically "wildcarding" any entries in the autoplaylist filters kinda breaks the feature. Let the user use standard wildcards where they need to (ala Queen* if you want all the options, but just Queen means QUEEN).

It's also laughable that you state you don't want to go into too much detail on "basic setup" -- that's the only thing the "main" documentation has is a sentence or two for entire large chunks of fuctionality. When are you guys going to learn that obfuscation is not a feature and you should actually DOCUMENT this stuff so users don't have to dig through endless personal blogs just to find out how to use product features?! Common Microsoft -- I know you have the $ to hire a couple of writers! I shouldn't have to blindly poke at a feature to figure out how it works and try to use it...

I want to be able to make an auto playlist and add by title of the song. I know this sounds funny but I have several podcasts/downloads that I make everyweek that all have the same song title (with the date to differentiate)like: "essential mix - 10/10/2007" that are all by different artists. I want to be able to make an essential mix playlist.

Hi,

I would like to know how to make a autoplaylist that it's filled with full album randomly.

If I leave all the fields empty and the arrange songs by Album, i quite get what I want, but the problem is that I get only the first albums of random artists (first I mean ordered alphabeticaly)..

any Idea??

PD: Why the zune hardware doesn't recognize the disc tag field? in multi disc albums I get all the tracks 1 than the tracks 2...etc...

I have found that the wildcard also fails, in reverse. When I want Queen, I also get Queens of the Stone Age and Queensryche. When I want Heart, I also get Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Any ideas on how to stop the unwanted adds?

I really like the autoplaylist feature this update, but would like there to be an option for creating a playlist from a specific folder on my hard drive. As of now, I have a bunch of songs from all sorts of bands and genres where the only defining feature is they share the same folder. I'd like a playlist that updated automatically every time I added to the folder.

Just one example of this is the Free Music Friday stuff I download. If I want to listen to just that, I would have to add it to a playlist every Friday, which is a hassle and I'd probably miss some things.

I'd love to see something added to the "heart" ranking. Even one more intermediate choice would allow us to mark something as a bigger fave over something else, or mark as not sure if we like it or not. The 5-star ranking was perfect for many, sorry you went away from that.

“100 Songs I have never heard”

beware of that auto playlist... i have a music collection of 20000+ songs and almost a thousand or two have not been played and the zune generates the playlist all the time... i mean, when i sync my zune with the pc, it always gets 100 new songs and removes the whole list replacing it with new songs (making sync process a lot slower)...

why not to include a stand-alone option for "never played" and "most played" that changes the songs one at the time instead of the whole list??
