I tested out gapless playback on my PC, and it worked just fine
----
Sweet! I assume this will be the same when playing live albums on the Zune device itself, right? Gaps on a live performance are a major BuzzKill.
----
I can tell you that we won't release a verson of Zune Marketplace until November 14.
----
Bummer. Do you know if the service will be available ONLY to Zune owners or will anyone with a PC and 15 bucks a month be able to explore it?
----
the other stuff, stay tuned
----
I think you got the whole world staying tuned Ha-Ha! Gapless was the big one for me, though. I think that alone sold me.
Thanks for the info.

I had the day off today and for some reason I decided to try and find some Zune info. After spending the better part of the whole day digging into more than 75 different Blogs, retailers, review sites and propaganda places I still have not found a single place that actually has any solid specs on this device. Every site just re-hashes the 'Zune has WiFi' info. Ok we get it and were already over it before it even hit the shelf. Now we want to know about the music player.
Do you think you can comment on some things that are related to listening to music? It is, after all, a music player. There are a ton of posts in your blog going back many many weeks now that are unanswered.
Do you think you can shed some light on some of the questions I asked in this blog entry about gapless playback, the SNR ratio, Custom and/or Pre-set EQ settings ect? Or are you only allowed to say 'WiFi' over and over until November 14th? -snicker-
Throw us some bones, eh.

My litness test...? lol

LitMus test. Happy now? Yeesh, typo cops :P
If you look, lyrics were the last item on my list. Media player has the dynamic lyrics that pop up in time with the song (If you take the time to manually enter them).
The AMG notes would be huge, though. That is one of the few things that make these services worth while. I have had a big beef with URGE for a while now (they can't figure it out and have resorted to just not responding to my emails) about the AMG notes not showing up after I have purchased a CD and ripped it to my library. They show for subscription stuff but not stuff I own and I HATE that. I get a nice AMG info page in my now playing tab for the subscriptions then I go buy the CD from my club, rip it, and the AMG info stops showing up.

How about a more practical list, though.
Here is mine in order of importance to me.
Gapless playback for all the live albums I have (I'm sure you all have a few too)
AMG album notes saved and stored on the player with the album art.
Recording capabilities for both voice and from the radio. (F the RIAA if they don't like it. Let them cry a river)
Line in recording. I would prefer to go straight from the CD player to the Zune and keep my PC HD fresh and clean :)
Dynamic lyrics/captions/subtitles (like Media player has)
Hey, do any of you know if the Zune Marketplace is going to wait until the 14th before going live? I would really like explore it a little bit before buying. My litness test: Search for a band named Red Elvises. If found, then they probably have a decent library. HA-HA!
