You are special, too. Dodge over at My Old Kentucky Blog has a post about Frida Hyvönen . Awesome, awesome stuff, I agree. So I explore a little bit on the Secretly Canadian site and find I Love You

ZuneInsider.com Approaches a Milestone

I was in the Zuneinsider.com's administrative tools and saw something interesting: This post I'm writing

Just an idea that may 'fit in' with the Zune philosophy (at least, in due time): each Zune owner could fill-out a very detailed profile of their preferences on people (and products). The device(s) could be equipped with a GPS tracker and bluetooth, which would constantly sniff-out matches of others who are within a 100 foot area if those pre-defined criteria are met.
So, for example, rather than seek friends on MySpace or Match.com, one need only walk down the street and passively wait for their Zune to 'light-up', because someone else within 100 feet is a short/blonde/vegitarian/Romanian/Democrat and fan of Great White - who is at least willing to share their music.
Go Zune!

If any company can challenge Apple's position in the MP3 player marketplace, it is Microsoft. I, for one, look forward to the competition that Microsoft will bring to the table, and the inevitable rewards the consumer will receive as a result. I also can't wait to see what Microsoft's Zune will be like!
That being said, the video on the ComingZune website is... weird, to say the least.

This desperate ploy will go the way of PassPort, Microsoft Anti-Virus, Bob, ObjectSpaces, etc. on and on and cost the company considerably more money.

That cool Austin sound is very compelling and relaxing. I found them shortly after 'She Wants Revenge' and I can definitely say (after seeing SWR live) that I prefer ILYBICD.
Other stuff I've been listening to a lot lately:
Battle (Brit band that hasn't released an album yet)
The Good North (Boston band that has released an album and two EPs, but is breaking up :( )
Rock Kills Kid (You may remember their single Dream from one of the band's previous incarnations. Their new stuff is very good.)
Halifax (I'm a little ashamed to have heard about them but never actually heard them until I played the Prey demo)
7L & Esoteric (Boston hip-hop)
Blackpool Lights (new band by one of the Get Up Kids)
Consonant (Clint Conley of Mission of Burma's other band)
Mission of Burma (latest album is incredible)
Shinobu (Bay Area band that's not in the mainstream yet)
Waltham (Boston area band in the 80s rock tradition)
Matthew Sweet (the reissue of Girlfriend has Goodfriend as a bonus disc, well worth checking out)
