Hey folks!

We'll be taking zune.net down at 10 p.m. tonight for a bit. When we return, we'll have some new features on the web - including "follow an artist," where you can explicitly state that you like a particular artist and get news and updates from that artist. We'll do RSS feed aggregation on artist pages - which means that from the one artist page on zune.net, you can see your favorite artist's latest Twitter posts, blogs, and so on (and if your favorite artist doesn't have this data already, you will be able to add the links yourself). We're adding more content, including concert dates, to the web, and we've redesigned our home page to showcase more of our social data. And finally, we made a bunch of improvements to the site performance.

Our friends at insidethecircle.net and zuneluv.com are already talking about the update - head over there and take part, or leave us some comments here.

So this means Zune Social on the web will actually load pages in post-Dialup speeds? But besides that, sounds exciting, the site was already showing signs of downtime yesterday.

Is this Zune's answer to $99 iPhones?

Awesome!!

I still would love to see an update that would allow me to hear when a fellow zuner is attempting to send me something.

update the firmware. thanks.

Update sounds pretty good Jessica, I take it you were working on this?

Sounds cool

Awesome thanks for keeping at it

Awesome! Can't wait. Maybe some hidden ZuneHD updates?

Does news include when a new album is released on Marketplace? Or is this something that is more based on news/updates coming directly from any given artist and how actively they are communicating via a blog or something?

Awesome!!  Looking forward to the new updates.  Btw, Jessica and Matt, you two are excellent together on Zune Insider.  Doing an excellent job!

Cool updates, thanks! :)

EXCELLENT!!!!

Sitting on Fence - Answer to the 99 iPhone?? What are you talking about an 8gb PHONE for? An MP3 player serivce is making updates to its website.

SPeed was an issue for me!

The updates sound great but, is that the reason why download speeds have been slow for the past few 3 or 4 days?  Today thaye are still very slow.

Interesting... my page has:

Start by following artists you like: Followed by seven artists/bands that are at least bronze listening level and finally one band that if I listened to it once... it was on acciendent (Linkin Park... aka New Kids on the Block for metal). How does that work?  Was just to torture me?

I restarted my computer after the updates from Tuesday, and now I can't sign into Zune or Live Messenger.  Is it still down?  I don't think so since I was able to browse the marketplace right before the restart.  Anyone have any ideas?

When will the new firmware (3.2 or beyong) come out?
