Hey folks!
I'm totally obsessed with Lily Allen's new single "The Fear." I know it's not dance music, but I just love this song. (Even though I'm sure she's making fun of me. I probably deserve it.)
So let's start with Lily Allen and end with AC/DC this week. My kid, who plays drums, has been practicing "TNT" and "Back in Black" for his next concert, so I've definitely got AC/DC on the brain too.
Last week's challenge was won by "deckardk," who was the first person to get from Fall Out Boy to Led Zeppelin in an amazing three steps! (Because it's so short, I'll share his path here: Fall Out Boy to the album "All American Rejects" by the All American Rejects; the album "All American Rejects" to AC/DC; AC/DC to Led Zeppelin.) There were quite a few of you with 7 or 8 steps, and a couple of you with four...but this three-step path works! Typically to choose the artists, I pick a starting artist then just click around until I find a cool ending artist, so until you send me your paths and I run them through my validator to see if the steps work, I don't know how many steps the absolute shortest path would be. But I think for this week, deckardk definitely found it!
As a reminder, here's what you have to do to win the Zune Home A/V Pack*:
- You can use the Zune client software or the Zune web site – click “Mixview” when you’re on the starting artist
- You can click from the starting artist to any other artist or album that appears in Mixview – but NOT listeners (since listeners cards change)
- You have to submit your path to the “ZContest” account via a forums private message in the official Zune forums. No other method of submitting a path will be accepted!
- To do this, just go to forums.zune.net, search for a post by user "ZContest," then click "Private Message" when you're viewing the post.
- The artists will be announced on Zune Insider (here) every Monday at 10 a.m. PST
The contest closes each week at 5 p.m. PST on Friday – so your submission needs to be in the ZContest private message box by then.
