Good news! The Zune service and Zune.net are back online. Head on over to http://social.zune.net/podcasts/ to try out the new streaming audio podcasts through your browser. We now have one of the largest streaming audio podcast catalogs - so go browse and enjoy. Also don't forget to create a music quiz - everyone is doing it, or so I hear.

You may continue to see some leftovers of the update last night like delayed playcount data. This data is not being lost, it just may take a little longer to display. Thanks again for all your patience. The work we did on the backend will help the Zune service continue to grow and scale.

I try to go here  social.zune.net/podcasts and it says "Connecting... and does nothing, I cannot go there.

I am unable to get into the "My Social" section of the site

Did they reset the podcast subscription data?

The rankings look wrong compared to what I saw in previous days.

I tired out the podcast streaming. It is really nice. Will be useful when i am away with my computers with the Zune software.

Works now, the Social seems to be running a lot faster than before the update, good work guys and gals!

Sadly, I'm not impressed (again) with the new features (you gotta hear the good and bad feedback too guys!).  As an IT dude for 13+ years, I applaud the team for the successful migration of the application from one datacenter to the new one.  However, music quiz' and web-based streaming don't tickle my fancy as you'd hoped they would.  Client-free streaming?  Um, IE/Firefox/Opera are the client.  If I want "client-free" podcasts, I'll just use my Zune (that's the point!).  I'm trusting your word once again and hoping that this migration will lead the Zune to start doing some of the really cool stuff we, all your users, are asking, and hoping for.  I was going to rant about features lacking on the Zune, but I've read and seen so many from myself and others, (with little to no response from Zune), that I'm not wasting the typing strokes doing it again.

IMHO, your marketing/management people picked a bad day to perform an update that took about 24 hours to complete and essentially did nothing to even superficially improve the Zune brand on the same day you-know-who took their site down for a much smaller time while releasing many more high-profile updates to their product line.  Don't get me wrong, I'm far from a fanboy of you-know-who, however I know good and bad ideas when I see them.  I love my Zune80 and everything it does, but i'd be enamored with it if it did some of what myself and MANY others have been asking for over and over again. Perhaps it was coincidence to perform the migration on this day, but I'm glad that the Zune brand didn't get any (more) bad publicity from being down so long for so little changed (at least what the customer sees).  How long will Zune Marketing allow us to be the butt of all PMP jokes before inspiring you, the developers to enable and release the 'put that in your pipe and smoke it' feature-rich release your loyal users are requesting?

Again, thanks for the hard work to successfully migrate the app to the new environment (and I raise a pint to the engineers who were up while we slept), now knock our socks off Zune team!

It does look like they reset the song rankings as well. I mean I rarely look at it but How the Grinch Stole Christmas being in the top 20 songs dled seems odd

Microsoft sent word today about two new Zune features. Starting today, Zune will feature one of the most

Is there any trick to streaming the podcasts?  When I try to play one in the browser all I get in the player is a message, "Cannot Load Media"

According to Microsoft, you can now surf the audio podcast catalog in their Zune site and stream them directly without connecting to the Zune Marketplace, as well as waste your time doing music quizzes, like: 1. What was the name of the dog that tried

@PaapDOTnet

You need Silverlight to stream podcasts.

On Monday, the Zune team warned its users that there would be scheduled maintenance happening for Zune.net

Welcome back! I thought episode 20 was awsome, great job Jessica!

When is episode 21 coming, I can't wait!
