If you watched Heroes last night* perhaps you saw the new Zune 3.0 TV spot. Miss it? Check it here. The TV spot, besides showcasing the Zune software and mixview, certainly gave me a new appreciation for Afrika Bambaataa!

You can also catch the spot this week during NFL games (next Sunday and Monday), and then on MTV, MTV2, Comedy Central, Adult Swim, and other networks. And for a little more context, check out this story by Jessica Mintz from the AP

*If you did see it, don't tell me what happens; I'm a heroes fanboy and haven't seen it yet.

The team has been doing a little extra work heading into the holiday season; in fact this week is a busy

I saw Heroes last night, and saw the Zune spot.  Interesting.  It was more a plug for the Zune software rather than the Zune itself.

I thought it was a good ad, and I love that song by Common (wouldn't have discovered Common if it wasn't for Zuneinsider podcast) and I think it really shows how cool Mixview is. It needs to show what the device can do though.

I loved the ad, already replayed it like 20 times! (seriously)

One thing worries me, though. and that's the weak tagline "Turn Your PC into a music discovery machine". Please pass this on to marketing: do they really think that's a memorable tagline? It's way too wordy, and it needs work. There have been some great Zune taglines in the past, like "You make it you" and "Welcome to the social", why move a step back now? Hate to say it, but it seems like Apple Computer still has the upper hand in this. Which are you going to remember more: "iPod + iTunes" or "Turn your PC into a music discovery machine"?

Though Microsoft has made some inroads with catchy, trendy marketing, they still don't completely "get it", and this tagline is a sentiment to the Old Microsoft that still comes up with corporate-style taglines in describing consumer products. If you're looking to capture a larger, and more youthful user base, you need more "You make it you" and less "music discovery machine".

I watched it twice, nicely done.

I'm using MixView right now. It's simply the best Zune feature. Nice work on the ad

We were fast forwarding through the commercials (dvr) and I spotted it.   Immediately backed up and watched it.  Both the wife and I agreed it was cool.

I heard there was going to be a spot featuring Kings of Leon.  Any idea when that will be out?? Sooon I hope.  They ROCK!!!!!!!!
