Hope everyone is having a great week! Some quick updates coming to Zune support over the next few months. The support team here at Zune is looking to make the support system more efficient, combining online resources, phone support, and the community assistance from the Zune forums.

You’re also going to see additional online tools to help with support issues, tips and tricks, and how-to questions. Because we’re going to be adding more online and self-help support modules, the phone support system is going to shift to trouble-shooting and problem solving: issues with installation; setup; wired connectivity and sync; device repair issues; or issues with Zune Marketplace. For more details, head over to the support section on Zune.net

If you haven’t already, check out the Zune User’s Guide. It’s a great how-to on all things Zune, like software, Zune Marketplace, device questions and more.

Sorry for not being excited about this.  Seems to me to be a bad thing for the consumer (me).  Then again, the times I have had to use phone support it was a pretty bad experience anyway...

Will we be able to de-register a zune from our account, via the Support site now?

Through all the times I've used support, I've never had a bad experience. (except for when they didn't want to replace my Zune because I didn't have the recept, but that was solved.

One thing that will greatly improve Zune support, at least over the phone, is if you get rid of the overseas customer support, which one can barely comprehend because of the thick accent & language barrier.

So when is UK support coming? Even as a trial run?

Ian - um, when they announce the zune in release in the uk and  then release4 it you can expect support.

perhaps a Zune wiki that allows users to update.  I've seen some great support wikis in use.

Why does my ZUNE keep freezing? and what can I do to get it to play again? PLEASE HELP ME

The de-registration within Zune is aggravating. Once every 30 days? I have the software seeing two computers registered when I only use one. My fault I guess, installed Windows 7 on a previous Vista machine, didn't think to de-register before. Named my system the same as before, then thought I was de-registering the old system when i just de-registered the system I'm using. Now I just renamed my system different and probably the Zune software will see it as a third system. Grrrrrrr... just allow unlimited de-registration already.
