Maybe it is a silly question, and I haven't tested it by myself, but what happens when you delete one of those Sync groups? Does it delete the actual files from the Zune?.

tim

I agree that when Zune SW uses the "just added date" it is crazy.  This has bothered me from day one (well really when they ditched WMP interface).  It really needs to be date created.

Am I missing something?

@Mario: Files deleted from your Zune

Zune Team: sync groups are badly implemented. next  update. Maybe!

Daniel

@Mario - The files are removed from the Zune ONLY IF the do not belong to any other sync group. Remember you only want to use Sync Groups if you have a large collection of media but a small Zune like th 4/8GB. Otherwise if you're already syncing all music, video, podcasts and pictures then there's no reason to make a sync group. You would make a Playlist. I think this video is somewhat confusing and doesn't explain the difference between a sync group and a playlist as well as it should.

Selection of muliple artist or genres for the autoplaylist should have been in scope. If the semicolan ; does work it is not very intuative for the user. Thanks for the video though, i will try the semicolan thing. Other that, great update, even though it was a small upgrade i feel it made the player go from a below average to great media player.

Agreed with Ricardo above; sync group implementation COMPLETELY breaks the zune software if you do not like to keep your music on your hard drive, only your zune.  Doing so will automatically delete all the music from your zune, without asking, regardless of turning off auto-sync.  Until this is fixed, I (and others) CANNOT connect their zunes, but to have their entire collections deleted.

Jason

also with the spring update, you can now right click on any video in your collection, and edit various properties that apply to it. This is how you can mark video files as TV shows/movies/etc.

I am one of those unlucky 80 gb zune owners who did not understand groups. The zune just started syncing huge amounts of music (I have a seperate hard drive with way more tunes than the zune can hold) so with out knowing i removed all the sync groups. Guess I am starting from scratch. Yipee
