Coming Soon from iHome: Zune Dock, Alarm Clock Dock

Featuring great sound, high quality and array of features, and the ability to wake you up in the morning: iHome is releasing the ZN9 Dual-Alarm Stereo Clock Radio, and the ZN10 AM/FM Table Radio. Some details:

  • ZN9 Dual Alarm, Stereo Clock Radio – the first-ever clock radio for the Zune, the ZN9 lets owners gradually wake or sleep to their Zune music, radio or buzzer.  A -7-5-2 feature allows for separate weekday and weekend alarm times, and an extra large, backlit LCD display with dimmer is easy on tired eyes.  High fidelity stereo drivers in specially designed Reson8™ speaker chambers deliver unparalleled depth and clarity.
  • ZN10 AM/FM Table Radio – a beautifully designed, retro-classic with rotary dials set in a rich, wood speaker cabinet, the ZN10 allows consumers to listen to the radio or Zune, which charges when docked.  A line in jack with included patch cord enables owners to play other CD and MPs players.

I snapped a picture of the alarm clock:

More details as I have them.

[Edit: dock is now available on the iHome site]

If that alarm clock is under $100 (and it better be) I will definitely buy one.

I love the remote, even if it will be sort of a luxury.

Jeff

AMAZING

now let's hope for a reasonable price. Some of the current speaker dock prices are just ridiculous. However, for a 7-5-2 feature with the option of waking up to my own music, I think money may become no object.

Geraldo

I've been waiting for these like... forever...

Dan D

thankyou god i cant wait for more details. my prayers have been answered.

Nicholas

Absolutely I will buy an alarm clock.

Currently I wake up to my phone, which is becoming more and more a hassle, as I casually turn it off without actually getting out of bed.

Must be in the $35 - 60 range, or I just don't have the money. Maybe at the end of the summer, once I've had a bit of time to recover from those college bills.

Any word on better cases? I was actually eyeing an iPod case that happened to fit the Zune 80 -- I need something for sports, ie an armband. Maybe it already exists and I'm missing it? The iPod one was somewhere around $8, so I hope Zune can match.

w00t!!!

sweet... i'm glad i waited before buying a zune dock.

i checked the ihome website just now, and it says that its gonna be ~$99.99 and gonna be released around June 2008

These guys must know they'll have a monopoly on the Zune clock radio market; my prediction is they'll leverage that fact to extract as much profit as possible from customers.  (Keep in mind you can buy a $10 clock/radio at Target - how much does Zune integration really cost?)

$50: I'll buy it

$100: I'll wait and see what people say or if other competitors emerge

$200: What it will probably cost (which I refuse to pay)

URMOMXBOX

It is on ihomeaudio site for presale $99. I think this is reasonable I pro-ordered mine already.

DETHZUNE

now that is actually pretty cool...

When I first saw this, I was very excited.  I have been waiting for a Zune alarm clock since I bought my first zune in 2006. (I am now on my 3rd zune, with is a black 80GB)  But, my excitement was replaced with disappointment when I checked iHome's website and realized the stupid thing will retail for 100 bucks.  In my opinion, it's absolutely ridiculous to purchase a $100 accessory for a product that only cost 250.

Gorodn W.

It's going to cost $99.00

Rohit

Finally. Have been waiting for a lon time.

However these days I have been wondering about where Zune stands? I hardly hear anything regarding its sale figure or anything. Considering evem iPod market is saturated I have been wondering whats next for Zune?

For the first time ever..this blogs measures to its Insider moniker.

The first set of news before anyone on the web get it...NICE!

jimlat

I pre-ordered one of these earlier this week. We have 3 iHomes for the iPods my wife and sons have, and they have great sound. I can't wait until June when I get mine!!!

BTW, the table radio is just like the iPod one....iHome used to have it on the site, then took it off about a month ago.

Liam

I wonder if I can get one shipped to the UK

DaveWorld

If only the Zune had an Alarm feature, I could easily use any old computer speaker in the house and a $2 Auxiliary Audio Cable to wake me in the morning. But it don't so we are forced with expensive alternatives with Alarm features, like the iHome. Seriously guys how hard is it to implement a clock/Alarm/Sleep feature?

Lou

The pictures show the Zune 80, but will this dock fit the original Zune 30?  If it does, I'll get one.

Mike

finally :)

Phil W (canada)

i think its far to big, compared to some of the ones ive seen for the ipod....this is a first for the zune from ihome...keep that in mind.

Phil W (canada)

DaveWorld if only the zune had a the feature to do my work and clean my car, like honneslty hwo hard could that be to implement?

DaveWorld

@ Phil W

In that case that feature would be very hard to implement. But asking for features that other players had for years (and in some cases considered basics) are well, you know a basic request......

ZuneTracks

Is it compatible with the Zune 30?
