Co-Develop a Feature with the Zune Social Team

Check out this post within the Zune forums: it's a chance to co-develop a feature with the Zune Social team. Specifically, a fun activity or game within the social – like a music trivia or theme song (TBD). Here's a quick blurb from the Program Manager heading up the project:

I’ll provide initial concepts and ideas in this forum dedicated to developing the feature, and we’ll go from there. Together, we’ll develop the concept, user scenarios, and then the feature functional design. We’ll still work with our internal product designer to come up with what it actually looks like, and our software developers and testers will write and test the code. But you’ll be seeing it at each step of the software development process.

Want to participate? Provide input? Want more details? Head to the forum and read more.

That's awesome! You guys should get Audiosurf on the device man! Do you know what that game is all about? It listens to your music and creates a racetrack out of it! I kid you not my friend.

Speaking of features, I think we need a "Send List". A List in which we can add both music tracks and pictures. I often find someone else with a Zune at school and I really wish I could send them some Aesop Rock along with a Pic saying "Hello" or something like that.

You know what I mean Cesar?

Darren Neimke

How about you and I 'co-develop' the Australian market 'feature'? :-)

Rich

The social should actually be a part of the Zune software.  For example, you're listening to a track, in the now playing list, it should show other people who are listening to that track right now, or have recently, their buddy icons and statuses.

Explain to me how is this codevelopment? From the description, if sounds more like I just get to watch and make the odd comment while you all make all the decisions, do the work, and reap the rewards. It's not terribly interesting. Perhaps its an exercise in corporate attention-seeking with a touch of external input; but I'd be hard pressed to call it collaboration.

Social should be within the Zune software. Not a separate site. Kind of makes the Social section of the program useless.

Ricardo Dawkins

I want the SDK!

How about a software development kit for us to write our own Zune apps with?  That would be a nice feature.  I think I've heard of something like that before... somewhere.  Yesterday, I think.

How about I co-develop east asian language support with you guys?
