I didn't go to CES this year, but other folks from the Zune team did - here are some highlights - Folks in the Zune booth got to see:

  • Hands on time with the entire Zune device family
  • Browsing through the Zune Marketplace
  • Making new connections in the Zune Social
  • A tour of the Zune Software
  • 1st and 3rd party accessories
  • Viewing and experiencing Zune Originals
  • Zune Show reel in the Theatre during day (Zune Arts films/Ads)

We also had a Zune theater (or as they say in Canada, theatre), where Terry, a product manager on the Zune team, put Zune on the big screen, giving folks a glimpse of Zune Social. All in all - a great show!

The Originals display looks pretty cool. I wish I would have bought a Original and put that poster in the garage/studio.

You know who I think should get the Zune next? The folks on the other side of the pond. I've seen a lot of posts from people there asking if they should import a Zune or not more than anyone else

Yeah! Eddie you are right. I live in Portugal and I'm really about to import a zune 80,probably will wait just some more weeks.

I almost bought a iPod classic this week, but it don't even compare to Zune 80,and i will be full of remorse to buy that thing if the zune came out here.

But I'm just afraid of the warranty if i buy a Zune 80, if it goes dead, I have to send it to someone in USA, and that is the tricky part.

Oh well, please make our wait less deadly, and give us a date.

Btw, Cesar could you add my email (it is in the url)to msn or send me a email?I have some question about the warranty and zune marketplace.

It's such a shame zune isnt available here in the UK yet. i had to get my 80 from the kind folks at zunethings.co.uk. and i would have REALLY liked an original! they look simply gorgeous from what i have seen (the rest of the world is barred from accessing the site so i havent seen many designs) i dont know what ms is playing at other than poking their tow in the proverbial water of the mp3 market. but they must know by now that there would be a big demand for zunes here in the uk, where its practically an ipod monopoly. tho that is probably why they havent pushed the boat out.

now how about some colors? i take it new ones for the zune80 won't be announced for a while considering they weren't announced at CES, but i hope i'm wrong.

I'd like to second Eddie's comment about the people over here getting Zunes- I have two but everybody loves them, already I have offers for my old Zune 30.

I think the zune original posters look fantastic but what I would be really interested in is whether many peripheral makers saw the buzz about Zune at CES- surely some of them have just focused on Apple until now and maybe this show will turn heads.

Hey Cesar -- when is MS going to announce support for Amazon Unbox?  I can't believe I gave up a perfectly usable Creative Zen (Amazon compatible) for a Zune that can't download a single video from Unbox.  Embrace Amazon NOW.  They're a viable alterntive to Itunes, something we've all been waiting for, yet MS is leaving Zune owners out in the cold.  Oh yeah, and after Amazon support, settle with Audible.  You're killing your player.
