BTW, I'm not sure what time the update comes out. I think it's a rolling update by region. My only advice to you is: stay tuned.

Can we continue to use our Zunes without the update?  I cannot lose my autoplaylists or 5-star ratings!

I still cannot believe that Microsoft has chosen to dumb-down the software.  How many apps have a 'Standard/Advanced' view?  Lots and lots of them!

Please, please, restore this functionality!

Interesting... Toward the end of the video, after his 30 was upgraded, the Zune Software recognized his Zune but the picture was that of a Zune 80. Should it have showned a picture of a Zune 30, shouldn't it?

The new Software is going to be run easily with a Spanish-Windows XP/Vista??, because I remember last year problems.. they suck.. I want to easily install it

Can someone tell me if it would be possible in a future update to turn the Zune into a hardrive of some sort?  Kind of like how the iPod can use it's memory for storage?

another thing, in the unboxing videos I notice that the zune doesnt come with that "Case" (I don't know how to tell it in english, it's like funda) I relly liked the one that come with the Zune 30, maybe it wasn't on the pre-release zunes :)

My question is. Is there a screen saver on the new zune firmware. I am assuming it comes on when connected to ac power without syning.

If the Zune team follows the same update plan as the Xbox360, it will start rolling out around midnight Pacific Time, or 3:00 AM Eastern.

Question for you:  Will the Zune 30 be able to play/sync recorded TV from Vista/XP?  Sounded like this was a feature for the new Zunes, but I just heard that Zune 30 can't do MP4 playback.  Isn't that how the TV is recorded?

I've been reading the Gizmodo review of the Zune software and geez! what the heck happened to all the features of Zune 1!!?? no id3 tag editing? No autoplaylists? only two views?! no play counts? no more search as you type? sure it looks beautiful but it totally screws over the "advanced user." PLEASE bring those features back.

I have to admit-the more I read about the upgrade tonight the less excited I am.  I just can't understand some of the decisions made by MS.  No EQ?  No 5 star rating?  No audio books?  I hope I am surprised tomorrow...

Everyone who's complaining about an upgrade they haven't seen yet. Did you forget the most important feature of all? I could care less about losing ratings and such, the day I can sync my Zune while its sitting in my car when I pull in the garage will be an Excellent day! I hope that day is tomorrow!

update went great...BUT,

I miss the smart playlists.  This, coupled with the dumbed down rating system, is killing me.

zune software is terrible, more stable, but where's the stars rating? and better smart list?  terrible, i'm sticking w/ the older software even those it's slow.
