Lots of reviewers are putting up their coverage today; stay tuned for a lot of links. First things first - unboxing: 'Thoughts and 'Rama both posted unboxing vids based on their review units.

What does the clear celophane wrapper say on the Zune?
I thought it was interesting that the new "love it/hate it" can be modified for each song on the Zune itself rather than using the software. I could see this system being pretty useful if you get your music from a subscription model. If you own all of your music, then this new ratings system is probably a step backwards.
It still would have been nice if you could delete items directly from a Zune, though.
Hey Cesar quick question -
Do you know if the new software and firmware is going live at midnight tonight or sometime tomorrow afternoon like last time?
Just need to know how to plan my sleep... :)
Thanks
A little perplexed for at the removal of the EQ even with your explaination, however I am very pleased with the new Zune 80 and will hopefully be picking mine up Tuesday.
Very nice job on the interface BTW!
Ditto. Are we looking at midnight tonight? I'm really psyched for this.
Wow, they said auto playlists (smart playlists) are gone as well? Why? That was a great feature and many modern PMPs include this as a highlight and the Zune team wanted to remove it?
The update seems nice but taking away all of my hard work setting up my auto playlists and ratings just isn't cool. I think I may wait to update my firmware until 2.1 comes along and hopefully brings back some features taken from us.
Ces. my man.... is an auto playlist not part of the "core music experience?" You told us about the hearts functionality (or lack thereof), but who knew smart playlists were gone entirely. Wow... Cez, please get the suits and focus groups out of MS HQ, they're ruining the device...lol. What part of an autoplaylist is too complex, and even if all of 1000 people use it, if they use it everyday, then it's a meaningful feature. And, that's all I have to rant about today... oh, and congrats on the launch.
For those of us with the first gen docks looking to get the Zune 80, will there be an adaptor so we don't have to buy all new docks?
Videos were great thanks guys!
Auto playlists are partly not used because the feature is pretty hidden. I would have liked to have seem the Zune dynamically create these playlists from the device, not from the software. Just like I'd like to see the device be able to delete video and/or other files directly.
The Zune 80GB is a PC Magazine Editor's Choice, that "trumps Apple's iPod classic."

The Zune 8GB "interface can freeze up".

I hope there is a software fix for the "slow, and sometimes erratic navigation (an issue that doesn't surface on theZune 80GB)" problem that PC Magazine reported.
The Zune.net site is going down for maintenance at 1 a.m. pacific time...looks like I'll be doing my update at work tomorrow morning!
I'm sad that I don't see the cloth sleeve thingamabob in the box. :(
new Zune's look great.
Any chance that a version of Zune software for Linux will be released, or at least a driver for one of the many linux audio players (like Rhythmbox) that can transfer to MTP devices? I have come to solely run Linux (Ubuntu specifically) over the past two years, and it is near impossible to get the Zune software working in a Windows virtual machine. I would love to be able to transfer to my Zune in my native operating system, and am sure that the countless number of Linux users (most projections report Linux' market share to be significantly higher than that of OSX, Win98, Vista, and other operating systems) would love this ability as well.
Big day for Zune and Xbox fans…and anyone else out there still trying to decide if they should get a Zune...
