Hmm, now that we'll have drm-free MP3s in Zune Marketplace, maybe I should go back to calling the series "MP3 Fridays?" We'll see. Anyways, let's get to the free music:
- First up, check out Dodge at MOKB's post, which has eight covers and eight remixes/mashups of Rihanna's "Umbrella."
- Next, Frightened Rabbits rock Cleveland
- Scotland's Shout Out Louds have an MP3 over at Chromewaves. Sweet.
- Celebrating his visit to Pisa, Italy, Forepac posts Bill Withers' "Lean on Me." That's funny. Get it? Funny
- Fluxblog posts three tracks from Zuneinsider favorite PJ Harvey.
- Not sure if you know this, but I love Daft Punk. As it turns out, my favorite Daft Punk song "Robot Rock" samples this Breakwater track, posted at Scissorkick.
- Continuing on with awesome covers, Stereogum has four covers of REM's "Everybody Hurts"
- JoJo Pelligrino is a rapper you might not know - get a track at 'Different Kitchen.
- Our buddy Arjan Writes posts a Soulseekrz dance remix of "Debbie Harry's Two Times Blue."
- Check out Cheyenne, representing Southern Rock and living in Brooklyn, over at 3Hive.
- You Ain't No Picasso have a Shonen Knife MP3, as well as North American Tour info.
- Brooklyn Vegan has two Imperial Teen tracks. Sweet. Another favorite.
- More for hip hop fans - check out People Under the Stairs and Marco Polo feat. Large Professor, at this post at Soul-sides.
- And last but certainly not not-awesome, Rockinsider brings us six tracks, proclaiming "it's definitely fall."
Enjoy the free music and have a great weekend everybody! Those of you who have emailed me about the in-person events - keep an eye on your inboxes over the next few days. I've almost got all the details, timing, venues, etc locked and ready.
