Fans of The Donnas should check out Zune Markeplace for this week's freebie: "Don't Wait Up For Me," from their latest album, the title of which I can't repeat here and keep the PG tone of this blog.

Cool. I like the Donnas. On another note, You've been a bit silent Cesar. Didn't see any comment on Zunescene's Oct 16 release date rumour. No response means a confirmation, just remember that :-)

I got my Zune book...gotta retire it from the Post office..

ey, Cesar. What about accesories... ? no new accesories for Zune much less for the "it is coming" hardware...where are the accesories, team ?

Check out this nifty little ditty that Kostas from Zune-Online whipped up: Marketplace Search from the web!

cesar i have a question. is mac support ever going to be released because im going to college soon and i was thinking of buying a macbook. or am i just going to have to install xp or vista on it :)

That's a question I really hope Cesar answer Dan.

since cesar answered me in the last entry, i'll simmer down in regards to firmware updates and all that stuff...not that i was all that noisy to begin with, but i'll leave it alone. the zune does meet my needs in a media player for the most part.

in response to jamie responding to people's desire to have a clock on the zune by asking "don't people have a watch"...yes, i have a watch but i usually don't wear one because of personal preference. i also have a phone with which to check the time, but usually on my commute to work, i'm fiddling with my zune - switching tracks, watching videos, and whatever else you can do on the zune - so it'd be a great convenience to have just a small clock on the screen somewhere. as a former ipod owner, that was the case. it's really a small thing to ask for. i mean, almost everything has a clock these days - it's just kinda odd the that zune doesn't.

this was way long.

casar, thanks for responding to me. even that litle tid-bit was enough. i - and i might be speaking for many on this blog - am just happy to know that we're not talking to nobody and that what we've been saying all along has been acknowledged.

ok, too long.

I wonder where that "We do not comment on rumor and speculation is" ;)

Well, this is only my 2nd comment ever here on the 'insider' blog.

In my first, I stated that I'm getting to the point of needing an MP3 player for my job (I choose all music for our Sunday morning church service, and a large MP3 player for library is needed.  I'm also interested in putting video on it as well.)  Anyways, I was prepared to go with an ipod unless I head anything form the Zune team by the end of September.

Well, the month is nearly over, and now there's all the rumors of the October 16 announcement.  I guess I'll go ahead and wait until then...but should the 16th come and go, I'll have to do a good comparison of what apple and creative have out there.  I'm counting on the Zune team to come through...but when i see the many frustrated people looking for firmware updates, etc., I wonder if it's going to be worth the wait.

Will it be worth the wait?

I'm going to start a band called 'Firmware Update' and become the most downloaded artist on Zune Market Place!

Cesar, I wanted to you what I had sent in response to a Windows Mobile Team blog.

"The reason that Apple is winning the PR battle is that they are implementing "connected entertainment" faster/better than Microsoft has been able to.  For all the talk about partners, I think this is the major issue that Microsoft needs to address.  I have some simple ideas that would make Windows Mobile a much more compelling and better dual life (business/personal) scenario device...

- Let Windows Mobile access Live Skydrive to access content such as music, photos and videos.  That way device costs are reduced by minimizing local storage requirements, minimize end user device/pc syncing and give them access to their entire collection.

- Let Windows Mobile access Windows Home Server for all the same reasons mentioned in the previous suggestion.

- For Zune users, develop mobile version of Zune software that allows them access to Zune Store and be able to purchase/download content to Live Skydrive/Windows Home Server.  The device shouldn't be involved in the download process but rather direct where Zune service should save that content.

- Keep open platform design so that other content stores could do the same thing as the Zune suggestion above.  Allowing them to save content directly to Live SkyDrive/Windows Home Server.

- For Media Center users, develop a way for Media Center to downsize/transcode recorded content and pushed to Live SkyDrive

- Make Wifi standard requirement for WM devices

There are other ideas but these are the basic one that would tie together Microsoft assets and bring a truly connect entertainment experience...even to business customers.  No doubt, the disparity between what Apple is offering and Windows Mobile would be greatly reduced.  You guys don't have to do a ZunePhone to accomplish this."

Hopefully you folks on the Zune, Windows Mobile, Media Center, XBox and Live teams are talking on a daily/weekly basis.  Thanks

...hoping for MAC-Zune support as well.  Thats another good thing about AmazonMP3

then again if Zune 2 has true wi-fi maybe Zune+AmazonMP3 will be the ticket.

@Music Man

I dont think so.

@mazola

LOL

@Zune Team

Here is an exert from the zune press release(http://www.zune.net/en-us/press/default.htm):

•   It only gets better. As Zune evolves, your device can be easily updated. The Zune software on your PC5 will let you know when updates are available for download. And with built-in wireless capability in each player, the future is filled with possibilities.5

It mentions updates and then says “the future is filled with possibilities” This turned out to be a bit misleading as there was nothing done in almost a year with any kind of future changes.  The only things the updates have done were to fix some minor issues.

mazola thats hardcore funny haha. ill download your band haha

possibilites of using your device with no added features and should have worked with no skipping or shuffle predictability

Ricado,

I dont know what you're talking about.  After the last update my Zune has been cooking breakfast and answering the phone.

"Zune 2: The Squircled Squirter".  And you thought only *buntu types could do clever alliterations.  Honestly, I like the squircle for the reasons mentioned on the zunescene page...

Mazola, I beat you to it.

Thanks for Work, good achievement
