Sweet, coming up on my 40th New Music Friday. For now though, check the music I'm serving up in edition #39:
- First up this week, MOKB's Dodge posts five tracks by electro-funk outfit Tunng. A good opening to NMF, I must say.
- Before Tokyo Police Club was my favorite band, I loved
Albuquerque Portland's The Shins. Dance Hall Hips (a blog new to New Music Friday) has both a Shins remix and a Shins Mashup.
- Aquarium Drunkard continues the tradition of awesome covers which are awesome: Of Montreal covers Neal Diamond.
- Our buddy Arjan posts a new Nightmare of You Track: "I Don't Want To Dance Anymore." Which is a fun song, or as Arjan eloquently puts it: "An energetic slice of dancey indie pop with melodic guitar riffs."
- Keep your dancin' shoes on for this next track: GorillavsBear posts a new Simian Mobile Disco MP3, remixing Celebration.
- Combining "Folk, country, rock, gospel, and blues to create an absolutely stunning sound," Rockinsider has an Alberta Cross track.
- Chromewaves drops two "expansive yet intimate pop" MP3s by The Acorn.
- Another awesome cover - Mason Proper cover Pink Floyd, over at You Ain't No Picasso.
- And for fans of hip hop out there, Different Kitchen has two MP3 snippets from DJ Envy & Red Cafe
- Prefix has Boston's Special Teamz feat Devin the Dude - shoutout to Adam K!
- Get one song by Nina Hynes and The Husbands, and and one by Cannonball Jane, over at Fluxblog
- And rounding out this week's NMF - The Mannequin Men and the Blakes both rock Cleveland
As always: enjoy the music and have a good weekend everybody!
