I'm sorry to say this Cesar, but as much as I hate ipods, if the new ones are more revolutionary than the new Zunes, I'm definately jumping ships.

Alright, I have to say I love the NMF posts, so does my wife, Thanks Cesar.   And now I am going to try a new approach.  Cesar, I'm comin home on leave.  I've been in Afghanistan for 7.5 months; it would be great to come back to the states, see my wife, my friends, my dogs and get some GREAT news on the zune.  When I head back to the 'Stan in two weeks it'll be me and my Zune.  Come on Zune team, help a joe out.  That said, I'm still lovin the Zune; new ones keep showin up on the fire base and I am seeing the new military zune in all the PXs, and a lot of empty shelves where they should be so looks like its selling well.  Anyway Well done Zune team.

Can we please have alteast some info on the Newest Zune comming out, Atleast a confirmation that there is Flash and Hard Drive based zune? I assume, there gonna compete with the new iPod comming out this week.

Chirping Crickets from the Zune team as Apple gets ready for big things.  Wow that is twice in 2 months that Apple has given its user base big news!!  

Cesar,  I really don't think your forum/blog is the place were Microsoft should announce news in regards to the Zune.  You should and do stay focused on the music and the artists.  You do a really great job of that and you are getting slammed by a lot of people, present company included(sorry), for not giving us the news we want.  I know this has been suggested before, but Microsoft needs to have another blog that focuses on firmware/software/and hardware updates.

So when this new blog becomes available, please let us know.

Mindy Mount, corporate VP and CFO of Microsoft’s entertainment and device division, recently said, regarding the Zune:

'Mount noted that Zune has done well for “a product out in less than a year and a half.” She added that the brand is being built and Microsoft is looking to broaden its identity. Apple is a good competitor that is forcing the Zune product team to raise its game. “In the few years you’ll see the continual evolution of that product,” said Mount. “We don’t have anything to announce right now for the holiday season.”'

That last line is the kicker, folks. Nothing to announce for the holiday season.

hey Jason - no news on the firmware front from Zune - but I would recommend subscribing to the "firmware" tag  http://zuneinsider.com/archive/tags/firmware/default.aspx, to get the latest news :)

Looks like all eyes are on Apple tommorrow.  Hopefully after everything is shown and said, the Zune team will feel great about what they have hidden up their sleeves!  For Zune to reach greatness, beyond device design I think it needs to get streaming capabilities, rich integration with Media Center and Live.com services like Skydrive, scalable to Windows Mobile platform and a host of service & content additions.  I don't imagine all that will happen at once but we need to see serious progress & clariety to that end.

I want *guerrilla tactics*. that is the only way to defeat a giant. if the Xbox team could do it to Sony...why not the Zune Team to crApple ?

Is there any news on anything Zune at all? I used to be interested in this product, it seems nothing has been really improved. Can you subscribe to podcasts and audiobooks through the software? Can the Wifi be used for wireless syncing? would be great to have the ability to use it as a portable drive.

Tomorrow, new apple announcement, I need a new Mp3 player I've had my Iriver 40 gig since 2003, and it's dying. It's up to you guys do you want my Queen Elizabeth notes? Your Zune isn't even here in the UK!!!

The Iphone is expected here by the end of the year, it's been a year and Zune isn't even announced. Sort it out boys, I think if Apple impress me tomorrow, I will get their player, and I was always one who didn't want to go that way, but their products are innovating and using potential. With your Zune so many users go, it has potential, I don't want a potential device I want something that uses it all!!

I never hear a Ipod user once say this thing has potential, lol due to the fact it does everything you would expect it to.
