Zune Live at the BBQ: NYC

Hello, New York City. Check this information about the next and last of our summer BBQ series:

ZUNE PRESENTS LIVE AT THE BBQ

New York City
8.04.07
3pm - 10pm

Featuring: Brand Nubian, Cham, Large Professor, Clipse, MIMS, Joell Ortiz and many more special guests.

Brand Nubian are one of my favorite artists of all time, so I'm really excited to go. If you're interested in going - sign up. I think this one will hit capacity sooner than the one in Chicago, so don't delay. I'll be there: we should try to have a community meetup! Drop a comment if you're in the area and are interested in going.

Dang none in Va. Oh well.

Jaxim

I signed up. I hope I get tickets. Is this going to be in Central Park?

Most Awesomest (Eddie)

Man I'd love to go. But Hip-Hop really isnt my thing. Though I'd love to go for the food and all.

Travis

i am so there.

mazola

I'll say this about The Social, you Zune people sure have lots of BBQs.

Jason

Cesar,

Blunt and to the point:

When is the next firmware coming out and what new features will be in it?

admin

Jason - Right now I don't have specifics to share on new features, timing, etc.

Sean

@Jason. This post that Cesar made was about the Zune BBQ concert not about new Zune features.

Jaxim

Agreed. Wait to bring up the topic of firmware updates when the blog post is somewhat related. This BBQ posting is not related to the Zune 2.0 or Zune updates.

lunaclown

Are there ever going to be Zune events in the midwest/south (texas, oklahoma, kansas)?

Jason

@Sean.  Happy consumers = better word of mouth = more sales.  Right now there are a lot of dissappointed Zune users who are waiting on updates, not BBQs.  I see a lot of upset users here who could most likely be swayed to the dark side very easily (Ipod with wireless downloads).

Thanks you Cesar for addressing my question.  I agree with others on here that we do need another insider that can give us the information that we are requesting.

Cesar, you are doing your job and doing it well, but you must understand that your blog is our only insite to the new features we have been promised.

Major Nelson covers all aspects of the Xbox 360.  If we could have something like that, I think a lot of users would be satisfied.

Thanks,

Jason

luna - check out www.ilikemyzune.net to find out what's going on in your area - we have a ton of concerts and marketing going on this summer :)

Most Awesomest (Eddie)

Cesar, this has been going through my mind alot lately. I dont think you go to the BBQs just to go. What exactly do you go for? To get people's opinions? Or are you just going for the fun of it?

admin

eddie - I go for a few reasons.

The events are a blast.

Lots of times I meet other bloggers or folks in the Zune community at these events.

I document the event and post about it - believe me or not, the silent majority of blog readers are interested :)

I also go to support the event management and marketing teams.

Robbie Bach said yesterday, "Media Center had a huge year. We're now at 45 million Media Center licenses in the marketplace -- big progress in getting Media Center into people's hands and getting people using that."

Seems to me that Zune would be crazy not to have stronger tie-ins to Media Center.

Most Awesomest (Eddie)

Haha, I hear you John. I think most of us do.

Drea Avellan "pinksage"

Oh man, I love these events. Such a great way to give back to us. I really want to go to this event, but I will be traveling... ahhh :(

Starting Tuesday of next week, I'll be off the grid for three weeks. During that time, I'm going to put

Is it still Friday somewhere? Probably not; my bad. But New Music Saturday Friday lives on. Ready for

The BBQ in BK yesterday was good but WHERE WERE THE PEOPLE?? The park was basically 80% empty for most of the day until the headliner LL Cool J came on at 9pm. This was in stark contrast to the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival a few weeks ago in the exact same loaction (and whose set-up and idea Zune seems to have bitten wholesale?) which had thousands of people in attendance. I dunno who did the marketing and promotion for this event but trying to keep it super-secret and telling webmasters and bloggers they couldn't post the set times online was a major mistake and marred what could have been an amazing event. Oh well....
