Live at the BBQ: Quick Recap

I'm about 10 minutes from boarding my plane and have time for a mini-update. The BBQ rocked. A few thousand people showed up

Zune Live at the BBQ 216

Ate amazing food (ribs, grilled veggies etc) cooked on these massive grills:

Zune Live at the BBQ 040

Saw amazing artists:

Zune Live at the BBQ 147

Played some Xbox 360 inside of:

Zune Live at the BBQ 016

with Common headlining:

Zune Live at the BBQ 236

For a (way) better recap, check out our buddy Felix's post at the Sphere (he also snapped all the photos)

Nice, great pics!  Glad to see 360 there.  Any Zunes in the wild?

Sean

Hey Cesar. Glad to see that you had an Awesome time at the BBQ.

FM

Cool so when are you guys BBQing in NYC?

On another note, why no updates on firmware and new features?

Neurothustra

I used to come to this site for updates about the zune software and hardware. Is this a "blog" or a marketing channel to plug zune events and artists. I don't mind marketing at all, but your site is becoming more of a prmotional tool than an information channel. May I remind you that the early adopters, the reason for any success of an untested device, are still awaiting news on features and application improvements (slow, STILL no podcasting support, etc). Everytime you post something that is promotional material and not product updates or pertinet news, it exacerbates the situation and squanders the good faith of zune lovers. Other than that, Zune rocks!

Common is fantastic.  He did a good job in Smoking Aces as well (something I would buy for my Zune on Marketplace if it was available).

How was TBD?  I hear that rock!!

:)

Neurothustra, keep in mind that this is just one Zune employee's blog.  As the blog owner, I respect his decision to write about what he wants.  If you look at Cesar bio, he used to write music reviews and volunteered at a radio station.  So these things are in line with his interests.

I agree that alot of us Zune users are dieing to get some concrete device/service/feature news.  As you said, to keep the faith.

Nick

Neurothustra, I agree completely.

Neuro, I hear ya. I recommend subscribing to the "firmware" tag on the site - that's probably the best way to get the latest product news as it becomes available. Ok, have a great weekend!

Bernardo

hey Cesar, I was there in the morning while they were setting it all up, I was there for a field trip to Farmlab and then I saw the sign that said "Live at the BBQ" and I went beserk!

jabbertrack

Well I appreciate the different blog entries. Especially New Music Fridays.

Eddie

aw, the whole food thing made me wish I went. And is that an iBook on that last photo background? o.O

Nice site background by the way

Felix

I've posted up video clips from the concert back on ZuneSphere (and on YouTube). Drop on by if you'd like to see parts of the Live at the BBQ concert!

Dragod

Looks like the 360 can be made into a grill, too! It's a bit more fun than the PS3 grill though. Lol =P

Zune Insider

Like the BBQ in LA , Live at the BBQ: Chicago rocked. There were a lot of people: Who stayed late into

Freakwncy

How many people brought their Zune to beam music is the question?
