Mike: sadly, no. Although we've all been asking about it since... well... the day 1.4 came out.

Looks like Apple is to a degree copying Zune sharing capabilities.

Cesar there is a rumor going around that a Microsoft patent for the Zune might pay you for if you share a song via Zune to Zune and if the person who gets the song you sent them buys it online that Microsoft will pay them. Sounds to me like something that was rumored before, but just this time with a patent. I'm looking at this with the  fact in mind that it is just a rumor and is likely fake. But sill wanted your word on it.

For the record, that patent was filed Sept. 1 2006, before the Zune was released. Now that's not to say they did not hurry once they saw rumors about the Zune and filed a similar patent.

I predicted long ago they would do wifi right, and from what I am reading they sure will. Maybe the Zune team will feel the pressure and spend as much time building a killer product as they do on BBQs the "social".

The ability to purchase music/video over wifi is just one example of doing wifi right. For the podcast fanatics, imagine getting current updated shows over wifi, instead of waiting till you get home and sync to your home computer.

I hope youe guys don't fall behind.

Quick Cesar! Patent the zune to zune sharin before Appl does it on the iPod! If they include it in the new iPod the Zune is doomed! I'll sell my Zune and buy me a Sansa if this occurs! >=( I'm not being sarcastic this time either Cesar! Don't let them push you around! Actually, John, Apple filed for this patent in September of 2006, two months *before* the release of Zune.

If anything, I'd say this is a case of an idea whose time had come, and neither Apple nor Microsoft is guilty of copying the other. Apple filed for the patent first, but Microsoft implemented the technology first.

Admittedly, Apple's patent goes beyond Microsoft's implementation on the current version of Zune.

Wes Palm Beach: There is no reason for a touchscreen on a digital media player...

Maybe if it had applications/phone etc. but not for browsing and playing music/pictures/videos.

All the others are great ideas though.

Really here is one thing (Besides the ones that the Zune team are already working on) that i would think could be some-what easy (Compared to the other things that are being worked on) , but not sure. But I would like to have an Aim messenger on my Zune. Not just MSN Messenger but Aim, Yahoo, MSN. I don't think you need a physical keypad for this, a virtual one like in the PSP.
