Heading to NYC

In a few minutes I'll be getting on a plane to NYC. If any readers are in the area and  want to possibly meet up Thursday late afternoon/evening - drop a comment. We can find a coffee shop, exchange high-fives songs via wireless, and general what-have-yous. Hope to see you today!

<Edit 4:00 PM>  For those in the area, let's meet up today, June 28th at 6:00 PM, at the Maritime Hotel, 9th and w. 16th Street. Be there or be a rectangle.

Cool have fun!

TheMan

The only thing annoying about this here zune insider, we dont get anything good to chew on. I'm a major xbox360 player and there's so much stuff coming out for it, especially that every Wednesday there's new games for it. We get nothing main stream for our zunes...we get no name bands that sound poopy...nothing supportive for us. Hardware is great...but no SUPPORT.

Jaxim

How long are you in town? I'm actually heading out of the City tonight (which is unfortunate timing), but if you're here for some time, perhaps a group of us can meet up around Union Square next week (maybe this weekend depending on when I get back).

John

Sadly not in the area, as Cesar will of course see by my ip :) However, I do hope the Zune 2nd generation will be more customizable in terms of interface ; for example, changing the color of the text and even ability to choose some fonts (I would the interface to have the Segoe font) etc.

Fred

Why would anyone want to meet you for "coffee"? You know they're only going to ask you about what new features are coming to the Zune and when.

This blog is supposed to be about the developments with the Zune but you never release anything other than lame music updates and that lame post about rumors then saying you can't comment on any of them.

Give us information once and a while! Is that so much to ask?

Whats happening in NYC?

darioe3

Tom

pshh, i better not see you with an iZune or else I'm going to take my iPod and iKill you.

Kevin

To bad you weren't coming to the Boston area, I would have met up with you :).

Dan Whiting

Let us know if you are ever in D.C.  I love my Zune and am a regular Zune Insider reader, but I have never had a chance to wirelessly share with Zune.  Besiders, I am sure it would be fun to hear more "Insider" scoop.

pinksage

woooooo! Let's do this :)

Nikki

Hey, how long are you going to be in the city for?

Kevin

I'll meet you at the 5th ave store. Look for me in line.

Nathan

Thom

We have a great many coffee shops in Atlanta.  Let us know if you get down this way.  We are a two Zune household and would be happy to talk over a cup of joe.

sjgmoney

Kevin in Boston, where abouts are you?  I live on the North Shore.

Kano

Hey, let's meet at the Apple store on Friday and check out the iPhone. You KNOW you want to! I promise I won't tell anyone :)

mazola

On your way to the Apple store to buy an iPhone? I hate to tell you, but the line's already started...

bruthaman

Totally unrelated to this post, but I bought the lovely Zune travel kit at Christmas, and the other day my left earbud completely stopped working, without any stress on it or anything. Unfortunately, I'm now back in the UK, with no plans to return to America. Is there anything that can be done, warranty-wise? I was expecting a little more of the premium earbuds than 6 months...

damien

Yo, Thom! You're in Atlanta, too? I'm in the Perimeter Center area of town.

Cesar, have fun in Zoo York!

mooky

What happened to the Zune news? :(

Sean

Tell me if your in Virginia!

chris in Melbourne

why didn't microsoft give every employee a zune like jobs just did? good stunt and allows you to make Seattle an ipod free zone

Vince

Zaff posted a very well written open rant over at zunerama that some of you may wish to read and add to

http://zunerama.com/forum/index.php?topic=4646.0

sums up some of my thoughts as of late as well.

Daveworld

Maybe Microsoft can copy the marketing of the iPhone (for Zune 2.0):

1) Introduce Zune 2.0 six Months in advance (Claim you're doing so before FCC)

2) But keep it in a glass case, away from the public (peasants) hands

3) Have Bill Gates walk around with one in his pocket for months, adds to the mystic.

4) Have Gates pull it out his pocket for a total of 5 seconds to show-off

5) Only allow a few "special" people to have one, making us peasants jealous.

6) As the release date nears, release more info like longer battery, SoapBox etc.

7) The rest is history

Not so hard is it? Nevermind - still waiting for podcast support.

Dan

Is everyone in line for the Iphone?

Let's get some zune news rollin.

John in S.Florida

Now its Zune's turn to make some news that will rally the troops (we users).

Mujibur

Not a creature is stirring... not even a mouse.  OH MOUSE.

iPhone seems like it's really spooked the Zune team into silence.

Rhett

There must be a lot of rich folks out there willing to shell out 1200 bucks a year for telephone service, eh. Is it really THAT cool a device to warrent that kind of rediculous cost? I think most of the iphone buzz will die off as folks go into the istore, find out what the yearlies are and leave gasping.  I'll keep my cheap moto and keep looking for a stand alone DMP that works right.

Matt

^^   Is it the iPod you're looking for?

Rhett

LOL @ MATT.

I've waited 8 months so Im giving the Zune guys a few more weeks to fix their brick. I wish they would come out and confirm if they are going to fix it or not. If they can't, or if they feel that silence is more important than customers, then iPod is looking pretty good (I think I'd lean towards a plays for sure solution if it comes to a switch, though. URGE really is the best thing going right now). There are a few brands that work that I'll be looking at, actually.

I'd prefer the Zune get fixed but I can't just give them unlimited time to do it. Eventually I'll just snap and go impulse buy a new player that works and never look back.

Crystal

Guess no one at MS is listening to the early adopters, are they.  Party on, Cesar.

Crystal3

Here is another sad, but true problem with the zune:
