Check out Zune Marketplace this week for a couple of freebies: "Deserter" by Matthew Dear, which in my untrained, non-music-journalist ear would describe as an electronic remix of my favorite Magnetic Fields tracks. The other track is "Dala" by rising African music singer Dobet Ghanore.

In other Zune news, Zunerama posts a cool story about a custom-made Zune dock in a car:

In other Zune news, our friends at IWAPZ have an interesting take on yesterday's post. I'm still chuckling from it.

LOL

That's great!

The June newsletter just arrived:

Zune June Tunes.....

Just to let everyone know, ZuneBoards reached the 10,000th member milestone today!

Read more here: http://www.zuneboards.com/content/view/90/1/

We are officialy the world's 2nd largest Zune community site!

Yeah I received the newsletter.  But maybe they should release it in the beginning of the month. ;)

It's great that people are builind custom Zune docks and stuff, but how about Microsoft getting some accessories out there so that we don;t have to build our own "work-arounds". I would love a Zune car dock. Right now I have my Zune hooked up into my car's 3.5mm AUX input jack. I would love to have a way to hook up and charge my Zune that was a true solution and maybe even be able to control it through my radio or something.

Hey lpx(zuneboards) I tried to register with your site hours ago but never received the confirmation email??

IWAPZ... that guy s hilarious! When I saw your Dolph Lundgren reference the other day, I laughed to myself, because he's one of my grandmother's favorite actors. No kidding! I'm not going to comment on her taste... :)

Also, I'd like to make a request: If you all decide to throw another Zune party in the future, consider throwing one in Atlanta. The Drunken Unicorn/MJQ (where the Ladytron/Zune show was held recently) is the perfect spot. However, you might have a tough time booking it on a weekend, since it's packed.

This is a great setup.  I keep thinking about one day having a couple of Zunes hooked up in the back of my car's headrests.   The config would have to be spinnable though.....my son wouldn't like watching CARS with his head sideways.

Maybe wireless headsets could be a future feature?   Tap into even more wireless capabilities.

By the way, if these features come out...remember you heard it here first.  I won't even expect any royalties.  :)

and one more thing- I'm at an all-day marketing offsite today, so no posts.

up...up...up we go!

Hey leo, do you have any issues with the zune plugged into the aux port?

Mine bricks each time I try.

Cesar, Is this a supported feature of the zune? (not the bricking;) but to connect through an aux port) Stupid question I know...my answer is it should be (every other freakin mp3 player can)...but zune support doesn't seem to think so. Am I up shit creek? or will microsoft stand behind their product and help me out?

Cesar:

Thanks for hooking me up with my surprise!  I will always refer to it as "That thing you put in that place that time" :)

Thanks again, I am gonna share!

I haven't had any problems with my Zune bricking suing the aux port, but I have heard that static electricity can cause problems for the Zune's headphone connector. I think the Zune shuts itself off if it senses a charge or something. I have had a problem before when my Zune looks like it is off and won't turn back on at all. It acts like the hold switch is on. I fix it by moving the switch to the hold position, and then putting it back to normal and then the Zune turns on. Weird.

dude i saw an awesome halo zune pix one time...thats like combining 2 of the greatest things in the world into an ultra ornamented electronic apparatus!!!!!!!
