Call me crazy...but I think Lil' Mama is quite talented. Watch this space.

Thanks for the music!

Oh my goodness! That Amerie track has serious energy! And since the 80s came back a few years ago, I see nothing wrong with the 90s making a return - in the case of The Comas. In fact, it's well overdue.

Thanks for the music!

(P.S. Vice Records has an mp3 blog and they posted a track of Bob Dylan introducing The Streets here: www.vicerecords.com/download/Streets_Dylan-Dry_Your_Eyes.mp3... it's a really nice intro.)

I have a Zune and i was woundering what in the world do you zune workers do all day?!?!?!  I mean i'm not an apple fanboy but comeon i bought a zune because i thought it was better than an ipod. but now i'm getting kind of mad when every time i try to put a video on my zune i have to wait.....and wait....and wait for the software to convert it to the right file type and size. even if you have a WMV file you have to convert into the right size. and can we get some more support for other codecs like .mp4, .avi, .divx, .mov,.anything god i keep geting in all the other forms that the zune was ment for music more than videos, if so then why does it have a bigg az$ screen. Yes i could make it play every file ever but i want microsoft to do that. Your the one who don't want us to hack your products, if you gave the people what they want then there would be no hacks. Give us something the zune has been out for what 8 or 9 mounths and all you can do is add something thats says community on it. WTF do your job!!! make zune better so i can actually have someone to use community with. i know 2 people other than me with zunes. I know 31 people with ipods. just hear me out please make zune a better product.

Ron

NEW FEATURE IDEA!!!

I love how the Zune desktop software tells me the most recently added music. I wish my Zune would do the same. With the Zune Pass subscription, I find myself downloading 3 or 4 albums at time, then forgetting about them. If I could just pull up a recently added list on my Zune, I could be reminded of what I downloaded.

segadc

Ron you can set an auto playlist .  I have mine set to the most recent music added in the last 7 days.

John in S.Florida

James, i feel your pain.  As a user community, we are in the dark even on short term (1-2mos) roadmap plans.  I don't agree with it but its our reality for now.  In the meantime this opens Microsoft/Zune team up to criticisms of their product.  However, I do think the people behind Zune understand how vitally important enabling Movies/TV user scenarios is to their success.  And I agree with you, to date it has been very Music centric.

Ron

segadc - Wow! Auto playlists! What a concept! I guess I knew Zune had auto playlist functionality, but I never experimented with it. I just tried it, and it works great. I like it!

Thanks for the tip!

Cesar:

   any news about this:

http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/18/zune-marketplace-to-get-mtv-vh1-and-cmt-content/

? I would assume rumor and speculation but since it's in the zune software...

admin

Mark - you're right calling that one rumor and speculation - and you know I don't comment on rumor and speculation :)

Ricardo Dawkins

@MARK...LEFTOVERS FROM WMP11..nothing more ..nothing else...

Woody56292

Ricardo:

Then why would it say zune in it?

"Need help with VH1 for Zune?"

John

@mark: Heck, we're always the last ones to know anything about Zunes; when or if Microsoft confirms the news, this site will be the last one to publish anything about it (even in comments!), even after Engadget and Amazon

admin

Thanks for your comment, John. It's true, some things I'll be first to post, some things I won't be first to post. Take care and have a good night!

Ricardo Dawkins

flash zune with low 4GB & 8GB max capacities...that is just wrong!

Mark

Cesar: ya, I know (sheepish grin) I just figured some1 was gonna comment on it, might as well be me. by the way what ricardo is talking about with 4 and 8... http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/19/flash-zune-supposedly-gets-name-capacities/

admin

no worries, mark, no worries. I was just really excited that folks are taking the rumors with a grain of salt :)

John in S.Florida

Ricardo, thats all speculation.  But what is wrong those capacities?  4GB is good enough to sync a few TV shows and a couple of your favorite albums.  Online, 4GB SD can be had for $35 and 8GB for $80..and those aren't OEM prices.  If you figure in display, mainboard/cpu/memory, battery, WIFI, case, software and packaging cose..you can get an idea where that product price point might fall.

Just a wild guess..$169 for 4GB and $219 for 8GB..leaving $249 reserved for 2nd gen HD based player.

Ricardo Dawkins

@ john...what about netcasts, games, ebooks, pictures, and whatever content I transfer using WiFi or perhaps UMS support for documments on 4GB....what about that ?

I hope they plan this better than Zune 1.0.

John in S.Florida

Ricardo, good point and perhaps the 4GB model isn't for you.  If you are frugal with your syncing even a 4GB should be able to handle...

1-2 Tv Shows

2-3 Netcasts

2-3 Games

1-2 eBooks

100 Pictures

20 Songs

...a probably with space to spare.  To be honest a 4GB model is probably best suited for "casual" users...and its my opinion that Microsoft needs to go after these casual users like Apple and Nintendo have.
