The Latest Video Posted to Zune-Arts

A few folks have noticed the video in the latest TV spot, the two characters dancing. Well, you can get the full video, as well as a back-story, and wallpapers to download from Zune-arts. The video comes from Punga, an animation house in Argentina. And the music, you might recognize, is Ratatat, a band I've loved for a while.

Anyways, I also posted the video to soapbox, check it out:

lol, so they do the dragonball z fusion dance and then die?

Ricardo Dawkins

yeah..what was that ? that is weird...:D

is this on America's TV ?

Nathan

Hmm...Pretty intriguing.

Speaking of downloading...any chance on a marketplace update today with the new releases from this week? Also, is ZM getting The Police release?

Ron

This is another example of the marketing strategy for Zune. MSFT is using Ignition, strange videos like this, MIMS, and bands normal folks have never heard of to promote the Zune.

Meanwhile, Apple uses U2, the Beatles, Coldplay, and Red Hot Chili Peppers in iPod demos and marketing.

I understand trying to build a grass roots following, but how about touting a well known band with the Zune to grab the attention of a large number of people?

And when will we get video on ZM???

Still love my Zunes!!!!

ray

The person who made that clip is from Argentina where apparently dragonball is quite popular.

Cesar, how about hitting the guy that provided your new blog wallpaper with some swag.  Rumor has it he keeps eagerly checking his mailbox, but nothing is there.

nighthawkz6

this has nothing to do with the zune?

brutha-man

noce video....but yeha...too artsy for TV.

James

Was that just me or did those two bears do a Dragonball Z fusion move? lol

Confused

Does this mean that if you ever find someone else who has a Zune you'll die?

ron

That's why it's Zune Arts!

Cesar, FYI: The zune_punga_video.wmv file downloadable on Zune Arts is 320 x 240, but it's a little 'different'... it gets transcoded before copying to the Zune.  Get someone to fix/re-encode that to a 100% Zune compatible file!

dead jim

this is easily my favorite video on zune-arts.

Kavik

Sweet clip!  and love the music...you got me to grab some Ratatat for my Zunie.

We need more stuff like this that both promotes some great tunes and gets the Zune more notice.

telekinetyk

@ron: Depending on your video quality/encoding settings in the Zune software, it could be recoding the video even if it's already 100% Zune compatible. That may not be your case, but I thought I'd throw that out there.

Lunaclown

Just thought I'd pop in and show off my Forza Evolution VIII MR ZUNE CAR that I made...I've sold a few in the auction house..so there are some others driving my creation....

this clip is amazing! i love it. i have just started looking up info. on the zune (i am in canada and the zune isn't here yet), and your blog is very helpful. It's great to see Zune promoting the work of wonderful artists and vice versa.

ron

telekinetyk, nope... I don't have it set to force transcode every file.  Most of the Zune Arts clips copy without transcoding, as well as ones I've created.

Cesar, any chance we can get higher "non-Zune" resolution clips on Zune Arts, too?  It's a shame the clips look so poor streamed to my Xbox 360 + HDTV.

Lucy

I don't understand the comercial whats it's message? It's as clever as our british attempt at a Olympic logo. Is it mean't to mean they died after 3 days after sharing the heart because of the DRM? Or that they're dying for a zune in europe?
