Check out Zune Marketplace this week for a couple of freebies: "Deserter" by Matthew Dear , which in my untrained, non-music-journalist ear would describe as an electronic remix of my favorite Magnetic Fields tracks. The other track is "Dala" by rising African music singer Dobet Ghanore. A few folks have asked me about the latest wave of rumor/speculation. Over the next few months, my guess is we’ll all see a plethora of Zune rumors: Ivan Drago, Flash Gordon, etc, etc. Of course, I can’t tell you what to believe, but if you’re going to base your opinions on unconfirmed rumors you read on the internet. . . all I can tell you is: “Um, good luck with that ;).” As for the official word from the Zune team, it’s, you guessed it: We don’t comment on rumor and speculation.
