So what happens when the special edition Zunes start having problems. Do you send a replacement special edition? :)

LOL met, what happens *if* the start having problems. *if!* ;)

VERY NICE!

...I still want my orange one though :(

The lack of color/customization in appearance for the basic 3 Zune models is perhaps one of the most irksome oversights in my experience with the Zune.

I fail to see why they are addressing this only through rare inserts and promotions.

You can add whatever features and firmware you want, if the base product looks bland it is not very enticing to an end user.  Apple may be full of idiots and fanboys, but they "get" this.  A simple thing like fun colors/designs for the plastic shell can make all the difference.

What do you mean when you say the Zune team will offer? Is it an auction or a giveaway? and to whom?

Yeah :) I should have said "if".

So is this something we will have be at the event for or is there an online auction component to this fund raiser?

Cesar, you should put something in place to disallow spoofing of comments to appear like they're coming from you. This one was fairly obvious, but the next one might not be.

@doodler

The Zune is just as customizable(if not more) then the iPod. The iPods usually come in white/black/bright colors. What if you don't want those colors? At least the zune has a marker/paint friendly surface. You(if you were confident in your artistic skills) could paint/ permanent marker your zune to be any color you want. Try painting on the chrome part of an iPod, the paint would just chip off. Plus, you can have a walpaper on the screen, a feature the iPod does not yet have. Besides, the 3 color choices are not bad to begin with.

I had to laugh when I read "a well known Los Angeles graffiti writer."  What do you expect people to think?  "Oh yea!  I know that guy.  He wrote f*** the crips on the back of my store.  Awesome job.  Now if I could just have that on my zune."

I don't hold vandalism in high regard.  I checked out this guys site.  It seems hes not into doing it just for art.

With the partnership between Ford and MS, I would like to see a ford or mustang editions.  Thanks

Now you can match your Zune Software with your brown, white, pink, and even orange Zune's. You no longer have to feel left out because you dont have a black zune.

Check it out, custom Zune Skins!

Did Ballmer squirt on it?

Not that I have a sick mind...but ANYONE will assume what "mazola" said. That is what I thought...I thought it was dirty...

I freaking want one of those custom Zunes...  I like the paint spatter on it, it looks cool.  I am curious if there is any customization on the front of that Zune though...

@jivemaster

By your logic, Ford should just paint all their cars white and be done with it.  I mean, if someone wants a car colored other than white, they'll just dump a bucket of paint on it.

I have already explored repainting the Zune shell on my own, and there are a good number of reasons why I wouldn't recommend it.  (Besides the most obvious one of voiding your warranty on a first generation product).

This is not the proper forum for this discussion, so I will simply wish the best of luck for this benefit.

Is this 35 different variations of the limited edition Zune or just a total of 35 Zunes that are being auctioned off?

I can't look at this Zune without thinking 'squirt' sorry. That's the result of bad marketing.....

Cesar, did you censor yet another comment I've made?

There was no profanity, just a statement about Microsoft supporting vandalism. That's what graffiti is, folks, the defacement of someone else's property.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graffiti

Graffiti is "...graphics applied without authorization to publicly viewable surfaces."

dude I just think your comments are kinda mean sometimes ;)

I think Ballmer is the reason why Microsoft gave me a huge cold when I looked at YouTube videos about Ballmer's "developers" video. Go ahead and do a quick YouTube search for "ballmer developers" and it will bring it up. I was seriously laughing out loud from that guy, my throat clogged and I got sick LOL.

Sorry to go off topic but I think the Ballmer iPod Mashup was even better :-)

@ Kyle

Calm down, fool's been doin it since the 80's, yes its a crime, but to him its a passion, a hobby. I'm sure your's is playing world of war craft, but then again i'm just assuming the worst.

His gallery is pretty nifty, but if you want dope eye candy, goto google and look up "123klan".

Style is the message. p

No I don't play wow.  You know, now that you say that, I kinda see where you're coming from.  See, I've been robing banks since the 80s.  And for me its a passion, a hobby.  I do a really good job and everyone should appreciate the time and effort that goes into robbing a bank.
