I haven't been able to sample any music in the Marketplace for the last couple days. I keep getting the following message:

"Zune software encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help."

I doubt this related to the maintenance. I haven't been able to reboot my PC for the past couple days either, but once I restart I'm sure the problem will be fixed.

I actually just rebooted and the problem is still present. Seems to be some network problem, but even with my personal firewall disabled, it still happens.

My sound card works just fine.

Looks kinda like a maintenance day for Microsoft since XBox Live and parts of XBox.com will be offline too.  At least it's quick and at a time I wouldn't need them at (especially for XBox!  Crackdown release date tomorrow!).

Tomorrow 2am - 5am PDT the Zune Marketplace and Xbox Live will be down for maintenance. Major Nelson

Well... things seem to download a bit faster.  That's good... unless it's just my imagination.

Naris, just a guess on my part but I wouldn't be surprised if they used this maintenance window to scale up their backend...to better support video downloads.  Anyone else seeing improved XBox movie download performance?

I have noticed for several days the "Leave a comment" image appears to be having issues - All i see is the red x.  Maybe they can look at this when the store goes down.

I haven't used the Zune store yet because my girlfriend got me a year subscription to eMusic. I don't recommend this service to anyone.

I saw that you guys had a "zune software encountered a problem while playing the file" error. I keep getting this error while trying to play videos that I know work in other programs, like Windows Media Player. Any suggestions?
