I'm curious as to who is commenting in/reading this site. So, without further ado: who are you, dear blog reader?

Where do you call home? Do you own a Zune? Have you found another Zune user and shared songs/pictures? Are you more of a music person or a tech person? If music, what are you listening to these days? Own an Xbox?

I'm talking to you, Damien. You, Tim, Harvey, Dan H, Matt, Steve, Drea, Romeodude, Koi2, Zuneless, Adam, you. Everybody. If you're pro-zune, anti-zune, pro-MS, anti-M$, I'd still love for you to drop a line. Ok, thanks!

Hey! I'm Ben from York, PA.  I own and absolutely love my brown Zune.  I still haven't met many people with Zune. :(  But I'm lookin!  I'm definitely more of a tech person but also a music person... I like pretty much any music... especially club music.  And I go goo-goo-ga-ga for new tech.  I don't own an xbox... although I've been looking at them a lot lately... who knows... maybe there'll be posts on my blog in a few weeks showing my beautiful Zune and XBox with my computer :P

I don't own one as I'm in the UK, but a friend has got one and I've used it and like it. Still post about it all on my website too and I'm looking forward to the release. I review Xbox 360 games in my spare time so if anyone wants a game or two on live! - terratogen

Hi, I am Jesper from Denmark, Europe. I do not have a Zune. It's not my lack of wanting one, but we can't buy them here in Europe.....buhuuuuu. Anyway, I am looking forward to getting my little sticky hands on a black Zune, so it'll match my Windows Vista PC.........when I get that. I work for a Microsoft ISV and have a great deal of contact with one of the resident strategy advisors as well as the strategy/development lead but they can't help me........even though they both have Zunes. So, Cesar, can you hook me up with a little somethin' somethin'?

Hi, I'm Steve from NJ. I bought a Zune the day it was released. I don't personally know anyone else with one, though, so no sharing. I'll be in Redmond for the MVP Summit, so I might find someone with one there. :-) I'm definitely more of a tech person these days, but I've been a music person longer - my CD collection is a bit large - in excess of 4,000 discs. My tastes are eccelectic, leaning more towards alternative rock. I'm a sucker for New Wave and Goth from the 80's. Yes, I own an Xbox 360, but I'm not really much of a gamer - I bought it for my wife. I do enjoy the Live Arcade games, though.

Hey, Matt from the UK.  Picked up a Zune last Sunday and one for my friend, also got the premium headphones.  So far I am loving it though transferring the playlists is a bit odd and the syncing a little cumbersome. having said that i havent played around much so i could be doing it wrong! lol

Anyway, I am currentl in Pittsburgh on holiday, pff to pilly this evening for the wekend, back min blighty next week with my zune in tow!

oh yeah, i also recently got a 360 but cant use my gamertag on zuen market place cos now euro launch yet!

Hey Cesar,

I live in L.A. and I'm a HUGE music fan, have been for years. I'm a happy iPod user and right now I have 8,351 songs ripped in high quality mp3 on my iPod.

I love all genres of music and love to check out new bands at the small clubs around L.A. I'm also a technology manager so I'm both a tech and music guy, thus my interest in all things relating to digital music.

My top 5 artists would be:

1 - Prince

2 - Elvis Costello

3 - Erasure

4 - Patti Smith

5 - David Bowie

Artists I'm listening to a lot these days:

- Persephone's Bees

- Hot Chip

- Lucinda Williams

- Camera Obscura

- Of Montreal

- Scissor Sisters

- Gotan Project

Dan

I live on Cleveland, Ohio.  I'm a software developer and also a Microsoft MVP for PC-Games.

As far as players, I own...

Microsoft Zune (Brown)

Sony Mylo

Phillips Plays for Sure device

RCA Plays for Sure device

iPOD Mini

iPOD Video

Dell Axim

Sony PSP

Sirius s50

As well as some other devices that can play MP3 music including the Gizmondo, Nokia NGage QD, and my car stereo 6 disc changer that plays MP3 discs.

I also have a 360, and intend to buy a PS3 and a Wii at some point when the price is more sane and the title libraries are larger.

I have not found another human being that owns a Zune.  Which means, obviously, I haven't found anyone to share music with.

I like the Zune, but not the Marketplace.  I don't purchase music from the Marketplace, and last I checked there was no video available on it.  I prefer to get my music from Yahoo Music or Sony's music store.  Sony has the best deals (2 LP's for the price of one on Tuesdays) and Yahoo supports Plays For Sure, which works on more than just one device.

I hope Microsoft improves the Zune software, as currently I wouldn't recommend anyone buying it over the ipod video.  The device itself is fine, it's the software store that lacks content and features.

Of all the devices I own, I prefer the Sony Mylo as it's a swiss-army-knife of features.  Hopefully Microsoft will upgrade the Zune store store with podcast support and video content, that would go a long way to making my Zune more interesting.

There is no place to leave feedback on the official Zune site and the call desk is unable to take feedback from the average joe. HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM (as they say in the movies). If you are a big movie buff like me, the zune software leaves a huge .tmp file every time you transcode (send) a movie to your zune and permanently leaves it on your on your hard drive in the transcoded file cache in documents and settings. The .tmp files are the same size as the movie so if you have sent a lot of movies to your Zune you could lose several gigs of storage. Microsoft needs to do an update that automatically deletes these .tmp files when you are done.

Home for me is Bellingham, Washington. We are a 3-Zune family - my wife and oldest daughter also have one.

I love music, play several instruments, and like a lot of types of music - particularly classic rock, some country, R&B, jazz, and some classical.

I also love tech, so Zune is a nexus of both of those passions - and a big reason I launched the Zunerama site.

No Xbox though... yet!!

- Harvey

I'm Chris, live in St. Louis Missouri. I've got a White Zune, got it on 11/14. I'm a software developer, working mostly on websites, using the DotNetNuke (www.dotnetnuke.com) platform. I'm also an avid car fan, I race Autocross with the SCCA and have done a Club Race as well, wrecking someone elses car in the process :)

Hi,

I'm John from Robbinsville, NJ (HiboJohn is my Zune). I am more a tech guy, but really am loving the music possibilities of my Zune. Still have not met other Zune owners, but am hopeful. Can't wait for native Podcast support either!

I have been lusting after the 360, but haven't had the spare cash (or hdtv) to get one. Own an original Xbox (bought on release date) and love my Windows PC and Games for Windows.

Take Care!

I'm ben, I have a brown Zune which I imported. I have never meet/seen anyone with a zune but they are not really out yet so...... I have an xbox 360 and would like to see this wireless play rumour I have been hearing about. I love tech and would like to see more extras coming from the zune!lol

from Dallas, TX with a Black Zune.

I'm an EE, so I qualify as both a tech and music fan. I ride the fence on the anti/pro camps. At home, I dual boot Ubuntu & XP Home. For music, I'm listening to a lot of Sufjan these days.

I turn wireless on if I'm at Sbux, but haven't seen others.  Would like purchasable movies on the Zune Marketplace.  So far, the only video I watch is lectures for grad school.

I'm anti-zune but PRO-Cesar Menendez!  Go APPLE!

black Zune from Virginia beach. I am a techie who loves technology but loves music even more. The music that I love listening to:

1. The Moody Blues (if you haven't heard any other song from this band except "Nights In White Satin", you are missing something!).

2. Pink Floyd

3. Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark (actually I love the 80s!!)

4. Simon & Garfunkel

5. Rammstein

etc. etc.

I don't own XBox as I am not into gaming.

\S

I'm Taylor C. in Salt Lake City, UT!  I have a brown zune, and one of my coworkers at the world famous Salt Lake City Public Library has a white one.  We trade music all the time, and send pictures.  I've learned to rip my DVDs since I bought my Zune, episodes of Scrubs on the train are great!  I listen to alot of jam bands and gigabytes of Grateful Dead. I dont yet own an Xbox 360 but i think will get one down the road.

Hey, I'm aaron. I currently live in Istanbul, not from here but i live here. I've got a black zune and i love it like crazy. I've shared a few songs and pics with some of my friends and i love music and technology. I'm currently a under moderator for 'rama. I have a good ol' xbox, but i want to get the new 360, its awesome.

Where do you call home?

Bellevue, WA - I'm originally from Minnetonka, MN.

Do you own a Zune?

no - I actually don't plan to get one either.  If I do mobile music, it's via a smartphone... and I really don't understand the craze for all of these other music sharing devices when a smartphone can do almost everything that desired from the other devices and it's cost is usually not relevant because we're going to have a phone anyway.

Are you more of a music person or a tech person?

I'm a tech person who appreciates music.

If music, what are you listening to these days?

I'm a fan of some good jazz.  I kind dig the funk jazz sound.  Check out http://www.PChangeMusic.com.

Own an Xbox?

no - And, I don't plan on getting one.  Not a gamer and have too many other gadgets and other interests.

You asked... I'm listening and probably not commenting much, but I'm listening.

Based out of San Diego, I own a zune and think it's great. I watch movies and TV shows on it and on my commute home I listen to it, every day.

wow i was named personally *flattered*

so who am i?

im Adam Hoek,

thats not my full name though, my full name is longer and much harder to pronounce. 20 letters all in all :O

where do i call home?

well...its hard to say really, i have been moving around the world all my life. I guess Australia realy is my home, althoguh at the moment in Holland.

do i own a zune?

not yet, i will very soon thoguh..very soon...( i want an orange one! but i can settle with a brown)hopefully i will get a nice case to match!

tech or music?

i am music to the extreme. but i love tech also.

what am i listening to?

im trying to find the craziest msuic possible at the moment. crazy but still really good.

apart from that I make my own music. I record my stuff and put it out there on the net. i dont usually finish songs though...i am just learning midi instruments now...freaking wierd how that stuff works. im actually working on a music/zune project now that may potentially be the shiznit.

do i own an xbox?

yes i do.my gamer tag is threethumbs. add me to ur friends list! i had an xbox but i gave it away to someone starting a gaming cafe. I didnt really have any use for it anyway...since i now own a360! WOoO! i play quite a bit...but im also single...:( i guess that goes hand in hand. my cousin just got a girlfriend and hasent touched his 360 since..so technically...i have 2 now, since the last place he played it was at my house when we were rocking a lan party.

im not really pro microsoft...im more anti apple. how can the people who invented the mouse...never upgrade past 1 button? and when they do it they call it a super mouse..whatever.

because im anti apple i dont and never have rocked a ipod.

therefore the natural next step is get a zune. I do really support the xbox360 though.

what are you listening to cesar?

Where do you call home?

I am a native NY'er and I currently live right outside Manhattan in NJ.

Do you own a Zune?

Yes. I have the lovely and talented Brown one.

Have you found another Zune user and shared songs/pictures?

I have only spotted one other Zune user so far and I tried to transfer a song but it did not go thru. I have at least 1 friend who really wants a Zune since he has seen and played with mine.

Are you more of a music person or a tech person?

I am definitely a Tech person. I am a developer (.Net, SQL etc.) But I love music.

If music, what are you listening to these days? Own an Xbox?

I listen to a lot of different things I guess. Mostly my old favs. I have an XBOX and a 360. Currently playing Rainbow Six Vegas and Hevy Weapons.

I'm Cris and I live in Vicenza, Italy. I couldn't wait to see the Zune in Europe in the mid of 2007 so I bought one via Internet in November. Well spent money!!!

Hey! I'm Kristina and from not to far away for yall, Arlington, Wa. I absolutely LOVE my Black Zune, its by far the best dap i have ever had! Im lucky in that my cousin also has a Zune so i get to use the wifi quite a bit, not that we do much with it, he sends me Black Sabbath, i delete it, i send him Waylon Jennings, he deletes it lol. The two things i describe my self as are major Technology person, and one of the biggest Country music fans you'll find in Western Washington. I have been around computers FOREVER, i remember typing random letters in to a DOS prompt before i could read,  and helping my mom and aunt build computers in the late 90s(i was 9 or 10). I have always liked Microsoft's OS's better then my experiences with macs (we were still using apple II e's at my elementary school in 2000 :O) and i have used most of them including *gasp* ME. I don't currently have a Xbox, it would be nice to have one it would be great with my zune but they cost quite a bit when your a jobless teenager...im still playing a PSone XD

Dan here from the ATL.

BIG music fan and major Geek :-)

(currently funkin' out to MSMW)

I own a zune and am hoping for some feature updates:

1. Audible Support!@#$!!!

2. Delete files from device

3. mini-player for desktop like WinMedia Player

4. internet streaming support (a man can dream, can't he?)

5. real pricing model in zune marketplace.  (I like to know how much $ I'm spending...not credits)

Where do you call home?

Washington DC Metro Area (NOVA)

Do you own a Zune?

I don't currently own a Zune but I am considering it, if only to add to someone elses market share other than Apple.  I gave a a brown Zune to my father for Christmas.  I currently own a Creative ZVM

Are you more of a music person or a tech person?

I work in Tech, but escape to music, so both.

If music, what are you listening to these days?

Rock, Blues, Cheesy 80's Pop Metal (yes I haven't out grown it.)

Own an Xbox?  Yes, I do, just recently bought an xbox360 not much of a gamer as my gamer card ptath2 will confirm. I would have got one sooner if I realized that it could be a media center extender.

I am open to Zune (I would like it to support plays for sure), I have gone back and forth on the like/hate microsoft thing in the past, but on the entertainment front I am reservedly pro-microsoft.

Im from Cleveland, Ohio and I don't own a Zune (YET).  I bought an iPod right before Zune was announced, and now I really regret that.  A lot of my friends have Zunes, and they really like them so I'll probably get one soon, considering I really don't like my iPod.  I pretty much listen to anything and everything, as long as I like it.  I don't really listen to a specific genre.  One reason Im gonna dump my iPod is for the movies: it has terrible battery life and is an all-around bad video player.  Im mostly a tech person, but im a music person too.  I'm pro-Microsoft, but not really anti-Apple.  I own an XBox and an XBox 360, and I used to like to use my iPod to listen to music and watch videos on it, but not much anymore now that I have my new Media Center PC.

Home is Philadelphia, PA

I owna  black Zune

I have yet to find another Zune user

I've been a computer/tech geek since high school and I make and love music - so tech and music

At this particular moment I'm listening to Azymuth - Jazz Carnival. i have a lot of house andc electronic music on my Zune - Daft Punk, Masters at Work, Bugz in the Attic, Roy Davis, Jr, etc

Shawn from Denver, CO.  I dig my black Zune because it reminds me of a rat rod (anyone into cars may get the reference).  Hardest part about the Zune is figuring out what slice of my 70GB collection to put on it.  I listen to a lot of punk and psychobilly but you'll just as easily catch me enjoying Ratatat or Miss Kitten or Frank Sinatra.  Lately it's The Scotch Greens, Nekromantix, The Fray, Demented Are Go and BBC podcasts in heavy rotation.  Plus, I'm getting psyched for the Flogging Molly concert about to come through town.

I own an XBox 360 and am secretly hoping for the day I can use my Zune to carry around my gamer profile.  I also have MCE that I use as a PVR and use it to stream down to my XBox

Ahd child - i am in philly this weekend so there will be at least one other lol!

Bob in MD. Waiting for G2 Zune with hopefully a much larger HD (100GB?) and the initial kinks worked out. Hopeing the WiFi gets utilized as well rather than just for sharing. I read this blog to keep up on Zune info. Waiting for an announcement that will get me onboard. Also, Xbox360 owner (same gamertag - xbob). Long time Apple hater and becoming an even bigger Sony hater of late. Does that make me a MS fanman?

It's Jatin Sharma from Plano, TX. I used to own a Zune until it flew from the roof of my running car where I left it after a 9 mile run at Dallas White Rock Lake. I am planning to buy another one soon. I have an Xbox 360, MCE PC. I listen to hindi music,  mostly during my runs.....

I usually kept my Zune Wireless off. Yesterday, I talked one of my colleague into getting a Zune!

I'm currently a freshman at the University of Washington planning to major in Computer Engineering. I am participating in the Zune Master's program, which is to promote the Zune on my campus. I am very excited about the future of the Zune and what it will have to offer. Oh yea, 11 more days.... can't wait!

hey cesar,

my name is ray, i'm 17 and i live in ireland, europe. i have been following the zune's development since rumours started appearing on the net early last summer. i don't have a zune but will definitely get one when it is released in europe. i know people in school who imported ones at christmas and they're brilliant, beat the ipod by a long shot. btw i hope the zune eventually destroys the ipod, i am sick of the way people dont realise that there are way better mp3 players out there than the overhyped ipod. i am also disgusted at the way people can't see past steve jobs nauseating pretentious crap he feeds to the media. i cant believe the iphone was headline news around the world when there are so much more important things going on, like wars and famines etc. btw am i the only one who thinks the iphone sucks? i mean it does what smartphones have been doing for years except it doesn't have windows programmes. if it is aimed at business people then i think it will fail miserably, i mean how many businesses do you know that don't use windows???

I am Marty from California. I have a black Zune and am loving it. After a few firmware updates this thing will be even more amazing, more uses for the wireless would be nice. Congrats on the 10% market Share!

Where do you call home? = Northern Mi, yes it's cold!

Do you own a Zune? = Brownie reporting in! Tag: aSeS1N0

...found another Zune user and share...? = Up here? did hell freeze over? :)

Own an Xbox? = 360 IN THE HOUSE! since Feb. 2006, gamer tag: aSeS1N0

I'm Primarily a Mac user, although I do run a Windows laptop for "business" purposes. I have several iPods from the last couple of yaers, however I prefer my Zune :) Going down to FL for a couple of weeks soon so I'm hoping to find someone to share some tunes & pics with down there.

I live in cali, North hills. ya idid find another zune or aculty it found me.  i had a zune and my friend got one so ya now where shareing. music person for sure. The Academy Is... and the vines, and panic at the disco. o and ya i own a x-box -micofoever

Where do you call home?

City of Chicago.  I live on the Northside and work in the Loop.

Do you own a Zune?

I do.  A brown one.

Have you found another Zune user and shared songs/pictures?

I haven't.  I do leave the wireless on and check it especially when I am on the EL or at O'Hare.  haven't found anyone yet though.

Are you more of a music person or a tech person?

A great deal of both.  I've always loved my music, now mostly various forms of Electronica (house, trance, drum and bass, jungle) but just as much love my gadgets.  I've had a small variety of hard disk based players, as well as flash based players, starting with a Rio Riot, on to a 30G 3G iPod, and now my Zune.

If music, what are you listening to these days?

Tops on my Zune right now is the 2nd CD of The Prodigy's Their Law: Singles 1990-2005.  Love the live tracks at the end.

Own an Xbox?

Both an Xbox and a Xbox 360.  As well as a PC running XP MCE 2005.  The media extender stuff in 360 is awesome!

I'm a MS guy at the Irving campus in TX, so there are plenty of Zune-users around the office.  I bought the Zune (black), not for what it is today, but for what it aspires to be.  We have played around with the song sharing thing, but I'm really hoping for more fuctionality via wireless - synching or buying music directly from the Zune would be quite worthwhile.

Currently listening to: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Polyphonic Spree, Eels and Tom Waits.

Love the site, man.

I am a Zune owner (Brownie) and live in Wickenburg, AZ.  It's about 40 minutes northwest of Phoenix.

I do have to say I am a heavy traveler and have yet to find anyone to trade songs with!  I have been in tons of airports and transit hubs (Phoenix, Seattle, Turks & Caicos, Newark, Detroit) since I got my Zune (November 14) and haven't ever connected.  WHERE IS EVERYONE!?  My girlfriend always makes fun of me and my frantic search for a Zune friend.

Black Zune first day, have shared (4+ Zunes at school). Almost 18, love it. Dont let the iIdiots bring you down; MS always wins in the end. (RIP Netscape).

Alex

I live in Naperville, IL (west suburb of Chicago).  I don't have a zune, and I don't know anyone that has a zune.  I have an xbox 360 and I love it.  I'm both a gadget and music guy, waiting for the next zune.

FJM, I went to naperville north. Naperville is a cool town man.

Hi, my gamertag's Trastan, and I've been an XBox user since launch. :D I'm now a very happy XBox 360 owner, and just purchased my black Zune a week ago. I'm equal parts music/techie, as I'm starting to get into the audiophile scene, and do plenty of PC tech work. I'm a graphics/website designer. I have not yet found anyone to share songs with inter-Zune. I listen to trance/techno/eurodance/etc. as a rule. I rarely find much enjoyment in other genres.

I purchased the Zune after seeing Microsoft's heavy after-purchase support for their products in the XBox. I look forward to a lot of unexpected and great features being added through firmware updates, especially ways to mingle the Zune with my 360's gamertag.

Keep up the great work.

Hey Cesar it's Sean but my friends call me SeanSean. I have a BROWN ZUNE! I have not found anyone else who has one. More of a tech guy. I'm not sure if I'm pro Microsoft or Apple. Don't have a Xbox my bro has a wii tho. I LIKE my zune ALOT!!!!

My name is Eric and I live in Ottawa, Canada.  I have black Zune.  I really like it.  I bought it just across the border in New York state.  I have found another Zune to share pictures and music with.  I am more of tech person but I love music.  I don't own an Xbox.  These days I'm listening to jazz and alternative.

I know you've heard this suggestion before but please add video to the Zune Marketplace.  Thanks.

Hello I'm Albert from Oxnard, CA. I am a very happy Black Zune owner and a Microsoft enthusiast. I'm a Junior in High School so I'm still waiting to grow up and hopefully work at either Microsoft (preferably) or HP. I love music (but from some reason I'm attracted to marketing/movie music so I call my favorite genre: "Commercial"). Although, I am a lot more in love with technology especially the Windows PC, so I would either like to be some Microsoft developer or marketing guy. And I am dying to meet another Zune user; I want to use the wireless feature...but no luck. So yeah, I like Microsoft/Zune a lot and want to make you guys #1.

Hi, I am Andrew from Reno, NV.  I’m mainly a tech guy but enjoy music, Jazz and older rock from the 60’s thru the 90’s.  I own an Xbox360 and use it as a Media Center Extender and it works great.  I can’t wait for native cable card support or DirecTV so I can get HD.

I don’t own a Zune yet, I’m holding out until it has a few key features.  I travel a lot so I want to be able to use the WI-FI to surf the net to get news and check email, load TV and Movies that I recorded on my media center.  I also have a few hundred songs I purchased from Napster/Urge and was very disappointed to learn Zune won’t play those tracks.

Miami,FL - Memphis,TN

Work in aviation so live and work in both places!

Need a Zune for the travels....(Black)

Have an xbox 360 on a nice DELL LCD 32" also using desktop PC running media center with tons of HD for PVR usage. and with the 360 linked I have a complete entertainment center at my finger tips. Never even use the pc anymore! everything is done right through the xbox 360. so the pc is in the garage!

Can't wait to see what ZUNE 2.0 will look like! yup ill be there to get it!

I'm Jer from Canada (yeah yeah I know they don't sell them here). And I love my Zune! Everyone that sees it is jealous how I don't need a case because it hardly scratches, atleast compared to iPod! I love the software, wish I could get a Zune Pass. I listen to party music I guess like hip-hop, rap, rock, pop. Most of the mainstream stuff. I have found no one to share songs / pics with. I hope to find one when I go on a trip the states

Do you own a Zune?

No. I'm not in the US. I wouldn't buy one if I was in the US either. Have you seen the iPhone? Leaves the Zune for dead. So much for the amazing UI of the Zune. It just got left years behind by the iPhone.

Another reason I would never buy one is because Microsoft are weak. They got extorted of a dollar for each Zune by the music industry. That is weak.

Have you found another Zune user and shared songs/pictures?

No. No one has a Zune in this country. And I hear that if I lived in the US I'd have a better chance of sharing with someone if I bought two Zunes before I ran in to someone with one. :)

I'm a proud Zune owner (brown) living in the Greater Boston area.

I have three other friends with a Zune (all three black), and I'm actively prosthletizing more. The sharing feature is a huge plus, even with the limitations. It's just cool to be able to send a friend a song, and to hear something new on the T's incredibly crappy and increasingly expensive transportation.

I'm a football player and an actor, and I do the morning announcements at my school, as well as pick out the music to play during passing time in between classes. I've used URGE since July, and I'm not really taking advantage of the Marketplace as much as I should be (you guys should combine them!). I'm really into hip hop (mostly the experimental/gangsta sort), but due to restrictions, I'm only allowed to play clean music over the speakers. My Zune supplies me gorgeously (I wired the PA to accept my Zune, as well as a planned computer addition, capable of running Raduga and the Zune software).

The newest game system I own is an N64, but a number of my friends own 360s (I proudly tell those who would care that I know a coder from Microsoft that developed the database code), although I'd possibly like to get one soon myself, though I fear I'll never be productive again. I've used my Zune on various 360s and have had mixed results, but it's getting better lately.

I'm very into tech stuff, but I'm also very into music. People tell me I have a good voice, and many have suggested I go into radio or some other broadcast media, but I think I'd like to work on something like the Zune project. Any chance for an internship?

P.S. Was that mention of Adam to Adam Hoek or to me? I'm dyin here...

Hey Cesar and hello to all the rest of your blog readers.

Where do you call home? The beautiful Pacific Northwest... more specifically, the Kitsap Peninsula.

Do you own a Zune? Yes, bought a brown one for Xmas after originally hearing about it from Mark's wife, Lindsey, who I met at another Microsoft event.

Have you found another Zune user and shared songs/pictures?  No, but I convinced another friend to get one and we tried it out... but never have I randomly found another user.

Are you more of a music person or a tech person?   Definitely tech, but through your free MP3 Friday, I have discovered a new passion for music that I haven't had since I was stuck on 80's hairbands.

What are you listening to these days? A lot of "chill music" like Band of Horses, Grizzly Bear, and Joanna Newsom.

Own an Xbox 360?  yes...  gamertag jedimike

I am Freddie Tshiaba, currently living in Finland, and work in Helsinki. I bought my Brown Zune last December in the US, also own Zune Car and Travel packs. I love the feeling of the Zune in my hands, and love the Zune pass subscription service. I haven't met anyone so far with a Zune in Helsinki or Espoo area where I actually live. Looking forward to other Zunes with different form factors!!!

I should have added that I do own Xbox 360!!

Dallas Texas here.  I own a Zune.  In general I love it.  I still own gen 4/5 ipods, but like some functionality of zune.  hate the sync. slow, quirky.  still won't sync with my xbox360 and i'm tired of trying to figure it out.  my ipod works flawlessly on xbox360.  what's that about MS?

i started my digital music player days with the creative nomad years ago.  i have been through 4 ipods and now the zune.  i have an xbox360 and 2 media center pcs.  flat-screen, big screen, whole-house audio, wireless networking and countless remotes.

bottom line.  there still isn't a killer device or seemless integration.

the church of immaculate consumption.

Hey, I am Jon Sanders and I am in 10th grade.  I have a brown zune.  Im a skier who has a friend with a zune, and we share songs on the slopes.  Im interested in both the hardware and music aspects of the zune.  I heard a rumor about Microsoft trying to put Marketplace on the zune.  That would make this mp3 player truly remarkable.  Thanks Ceaser!

I don't have a Zune yet. I've almost got the funds saved up to get one. I've been a iPod user for about 3 years, but since I work closely with a Microsoft partner, I feel it's my DUTY to get a Zune and put it through the paces. I've been reading this site for about 3 weeks, trying to get as much information as I can.

Love the site! Can't wait to start Zuning!

Damien form Atlanta, GA here. I don't have a Zune yet, because I'm waiting for a smaller-capacity one. (Yeah, I know, I'm the only person in the world waiting for a PMP that holds LESS songs, but I haven't even filled my 4 gig iPod yet.) Also, I do a lot of running and biking, so I'd like a flash-based one.

I'm a music person all the way! But, I do read a little bit about tech stuff (um... I read Wired magazine, that's about it).

Fave artists:

Hey,

I'm Frazmand and I live in the UK.

Since the Zune isn't out here yet I am struggling to find an importer. What colour do you guys like best?

P.S. Great blog. I hope to put some of your free music on to my Zune when i get one. Im also coming over to the states (New Hampshire) in Febuary so I'll get one then if I haven't already got one.

Hi im Shawn, I'm a college student in houston texas, and i love music.

I have a nano which my sister is currently "borrowing".  I don't hate MS, i love ms.  That said, i think the zune needs some working, but its good for your first.

and i won that zune song contest a while back = )

Hi, From London UK, Yes I own a Zune, got it shipped out of the US on the first day of release.   Yes I own a XBOX 360 but I'm no MSFT flag boy. I love music, I've owned a number of MP3 players in my life from 16Mb SD players to a Iriver h340.  love for music is only muted by my love technology   there is nothing better than creating your own technology which people use and are inspired by, for me its ContentAgent. Which I use to encode my videos for my Zune.

Hello, I'm from Abilene, TX I own a black zune and am happy with it as it does most of what I want.  I'm especially happy with the zunepass.  That has saved me a ton of money comparedto if I had an IPOD.

Would like to see a book reader and audio book support  Thanks

Well Im Matt D. u can see that up there. I recently got a zune about 9 hrs ago. Its awesome so far. No I haven't got my zune social yet. But Ive convinced a couple of my friends to want zunes. I do have a 360. Gamertag OHSMidgetPimp for anyone who want to send me a friend request or play some gears. Well thats bout it. Pcz

well i got a zune Jan 3rd(my father got me one and then left it another state so had to buy another one was well haha)anyways,i injoy my zune, wish that the wireless could do more and hope to see some appz for it oneday.

Maybe we'll see some screen savers that beat to the music?

or some kinda game to keep us busy in sucky places like the airport and for some kids in school.

My boyfriend steals my zune all the time, its hard to keep up with it.=)

My name's Andrew, and I currently reside in Durham, NC. I'm an undergrad at Duke University, though I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta. I got the zune the week it came out, and basically, I like to play with new tech. I'm more of a tech guy, though I enjoy music (who doesn't) and play the violin.

In terms of music, I like artists that are fairly mellow: snow patrol, the fray, the shins, and other alternative stuff. At times, I enjoy more mainstream rock and pop.

I like my zune, though I feel it's lacking some features that I'd like to see incorporated in the future as some sort of firmware upgrade. I feel the wi-fi chip is a good stepping stone to something greater, and no, I have not found another zune user to share files with.

One thing that REALLY bugs me: why can't I use it as an external disk drive?

I enjoy the blog and reading about different people's perceptions on new tech.

Hello all, My name is Corey. I purchased a Zune to replace my Zen Touch not a month ago, and I'm pleased with the purchase overall. I am both a tech kid AND a music kid, seeing as I'm actually going to school for Music Technology.

I'll reiterate simply by saying I wish the software (AND the firmware) of the Zune wasn't so limiting - but I'll wait it out and see what happens. Hope you MS worker-bees have something up your sleeve to crack the HDD PMP game wide open.

I am both a hardcore gadget/tech nerd and a music afficionado.  I work in the IT Industry but am probably at a live music event two to three times a month and was previously (before Zune pass) buying 5-6 albums a month.

I work in Hollywood and I had my first "Zune experience" on the lovely LA Metro system.  Headed downtown for a Laker game I was listening to my Zune and did a quick (and random) 'Community' check and low and behold there was another Zune user on the same train!  We exchanged songs, glanced around and gave each other a nod.  It was pretty cool.

I use the Zune transfer with a coworker that bought a Zune a lot, thats great.

My Biggest gripes with Zune:

1. Skipping music, its pretty bad

2. Too big (I know its a 1st gen product)

3. Marketplace software has a LOT of GUI lag

4. No mac support

5. Marketplace limitations on burning/sharing when using the Zune subscription

Those are mostly minor, other than the skipping.  I love the Zune, the subscription, the playback software, the UI.  Its all great steps.  But it needs refinement.

I'm a zune owner and am pleased with the product.  It does all it promises and does it well.  I really want this product to do well.  For the life of me, though, I can't figure out what the zune marketing team is doing.  I've yet to see a TV commercial for the zune.  Hardly any of my family or friends have even heard of zune.  Bottom line, if you're not directing yourself to the microsoft or zune website, you probably have no clue what zune is.  This bothers me.  I'm not sure if the wifi on my zune even works because I've yet to find anyone anywhere who has one.  The local stores hide them.  Wal-Mart has it in a display case next to players 1/3 it's size.  The only ads I've seen for Zune are online.  The only commercials are on youtube.  The best product in the world goes nowhere without marketing, but with it, even poor products sell off the shelves.  I'm holding out hope, don't disappoint.

I'm the proud owner of a black Zune. As someone who doesn't have any investment in iTunes, the Zune was a pretty obvious choice. Size? Yeah, it's slightly chunkier, but I never notice it, it still fits perfectly well in my pocket, and it has a nice feel to it. And, of course, the screen is great. :)

I've used wi-fi just once, and I think it'll be great with just a firmware update or two. (To everyone who says wi-fi is pointless, think back to the original Xbox: how many times did you use the Ethernet port for LAN play before Xbox Live launched, hmm? And how glad were you to have it once XBL *did* launch? ;)

I *do* have an Xbox, and I love it. I'm really hoping that you guys do more to integrate the two. Live Anywhere on the Zune, even if that only means checking your XBL friends' status? Or maybe integration of Zune Marketplace and Xbox Live Marketplace so we can get download music to the 360 and videos to the Zune? That'd be awesome. There's a lot of potential there. :)

I am a Matt as well.  I am an Xbox MVP, and a zune owner.

You guys can see me on XBL as Mastaglach820.  Cesar should remember me, I met him in June at MS.  heh.

Hi!! Im Drea aka pinksage. I run a Zune blog, concentrating on the Zune community

( generationzune.net). I also have a Zune and i bought my boyfriend one aswell, and we love it. I am a co-host and writer for gamertagradio.com so YES, i own a xbox 360.. gamertag: Ichigo Sage... message me!

I am Pro-Zune Pro- Xbox, w00t.

Zune user from Riverton, UT. Bought a Zune the second week out after some serious research. I owned a gigabeat S before the Zune and loved the interface, it was a big reason I upgraded to the Zune. I actually have found another Zune user. Quick story.

About a month ago, I was at my favorite college hangout, a small pizza joint near the University of Utah(called The Pie, logo is the Pi symbol), and my cousin looked over and saw some girl holding a Zune up for some odd reason. My eyes widened, my god, a fellow zune in the wild. They all rag on me and my little Zune, but my brother said, "Hey send her a song" So I plopped my Zune out and picked a song, and sent it. She didn't realize who sent it, and we were all watching her from across the room. She looked down and was at first surprised, then she showed those from her table, I couldn't hear it, but I saw her say, "someone's sending me a song". They started laughing, and we kept going back and forth sending songs. She sent the Jackson 5's ABC, I sent Smooth Criminal in return, she sent Aretha Franklin's Respect, I sent Digital Underground's The Humpty Dance in reply.

I'm a DJ with over ten years under my belt so I know my way around the technical side of music, plus I love to discover new artists, and love to support their rise to fame.  Lately I'm listening to The Format, and The Living End. See my Last.fm profile for more: http://www.last.fm/user/Archeantus/

We also have an XBOX 360 in the home.

Hi,

I'm Jonathan from Lake Charles, Louisiana. Explosions in the Sky and the soundtrack from Gods and Generals is about all I've been listening to lately.

I bought a brown Zune, and also tried but did not get into the Zune Master program. My gamerTag is Stonewall jVan. I've still yet to find another Zune user on my campus near Chicago.

I'd love to see a little lossless WMA support, gapless playback, a clock, and an easy way to make the Zune logo my Gamerpic. :)

I'm Dan from New Jersey.  Originally an iPod user... went to the Archos AV700 and now a Zune user - I bought my Zune a few days after release. Loving the device and the Marketplace.  Haven't found anyone else who owns one yet - however I bought one for my wife for XMas.

I use Sonos and Rhapsody for all my home music but love the Zune for portable music.  I am also an Xbox 360 owner (actually I have 3 of them - used for Media Center Extenders).  Can't wait to see what else is in store for the Zune platform!

EVERYONE! Please join our fight against Universal, and help us stop them from breaking our Zunes.

Thank you,

Eric from Newark, DE.  Had my black ZUNE since Xmas (bought it on release date, but my old lady made me wait till xmas).

I haven't come across any other ZUNE users, but then again, I haven't tried.  I love music and the techie side of it all.

My favorite artists are Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Frank Zappa and Bad Religion.  I dig a bit of country too (older Randy Travis, David Allan Coe, George Jones...).

Personally, I think the ZUNE Marketplace is a joke right now.  Nothing seems to be of any interest to me, that I don't already have.  I think I found 2 albums that I got using Marketplace.  Here's a tip if you don't like DRM preotection; TUNEBITE!  Digitally re-encodes, while stripping the DRM protection from ZUNE Marketplace and the like (iTunes, Napster, etc.).

Haven't hooked it up to my 360 yet, but I like how the ZUNE software is a little more coopertive with the 360s dashboard.  The tracks and give me no issue when loading, even the ID3 tags are ALL coming up properly.  It was a real mess using WMP10-11.

XBOX Live Gamertag: losingmysenses

Look me up to play Spades or maybe even a little SmackDown vs. Raw!

I'm Adrian from Oxford UK. I got my Zune via Ebay ;)

As yet I've not found another Zune, but then it's not out here ;)

I listen to alot more music since I got my zune. Am currently listening to Bloc Party, The Shins, The Fray, The Fratellis & Garden State Soundtrack

I do have an Xbox 360, and often watch video from Zune on it, though I wish it wouldn't resize them to a smaller res, as they don't always look that great on a HDTV :(

I'm Greg Piper, a reporter with Warren Communications News in Washington DC.  Haven't played with the Zune yet but occasionally I write about its functions like DRM and the music store.

I'm a techie who loves music (most Genres) ... own two Nano's, a Sansa (love the FM radio and audio recording), a Xbox + MCE hooked to a large Sharp Aquous, Axim, iPaq, 5 laptops and 2 servers. My spouse and kids love the iPods; the Zune is all mine (the Zune Car Pack and FM transmitter rocks). Our other car has a reciever that can control the iPod via a cable that was bought before I had heard of a Zune. I have a large CD collection that I am slowly uploading to my Zune library. I have 4000+ songs, 80+ videos and 500+ pictures on my Zune and I listen to it 5+ hours every single day. Bought my Zune on the release day but have yet to see another Zune with wireless enabled in any Starbucks or Airport but I will keep looking ... looking forward to firmware updates when they are ready ... the potential is endless ...

Im Justin, 26 From houston,Tx but stationed in cali, i have a awsome black zune and a 360. the only thing is is i think my zune blew up my 360, but im not really sure, but its cool though because i had the warrenty. zune is really awsome, but i wish that you could transfer the videos purchesed off the 360 to my zune, and visa versa, also yall defintaly need to put some video content on the online market place!!! that all though its a rockin machine and i reallly appricate it, specilly for us marines we get board sometimes..thanks

Hi, my name is Andrea from Germany,

I don't own a Zune so far and I have never had an iPod before.

I started my Website about Zune because I was hoping to give lots of new information about Zune for the german people.

It's a lot fun and also work, to translate all the Zune information into German.

As I read today, MS is planning to bring the Zune on the market in Europe not before the end of 2007. Thats a pity, but what I found mesmerizing is the fact, that they're gonna give Zunes to some people in Europe to test and give there feedback for furter rework on the Zune for Eorope.

If that was true, where may I applicate to be a test user? I guess it would be a good idea to give them also to the people who are running websites about it? Please let me know .....

cheers

Andrea

Hi my name is Bryant and I am from Miami. I do have a (black) Zune and I love it. I have sent one song to another Zune that was left at someones house- I don't know who it was lol!

I am really into music and video games. I really enjoy playing with my Wii and 360 as well as my DS. I an biased towards Nintendo but I have to give M$ mad props for coming out with Halo.

Some random info... I think the best invention ever is the pocket- it is so useful. I like pizza (doesn't everybody?). And I am secretly in love with Cesar Menendez: the online latin heartthrob.

GeoPositioning: Chicago, IL, student

ZuneAdopt:Yes

Other Zuneatics:No

Music or Techie: Both

Music: Electronica/House/Live DJ Sets

Xbox:No

Random thoughts: Decision to buy zune was really spontaneous; no real interest in this or similar devices before release(I recently sold my Creative Zen 30Gb - cumbersome device, experiense sucked). I read about Zune in several blogs, really liked design, different from what I've seen in the market so far(hated iPod's girlie design), then went to local BB, played with interface, really liked the intuitiveness and simplicity, and 3 days later purchased the named device - so far so good, some quirks here and there, but i love to be early adopter, as I see future in this device.

hey im from AZ and i own both black zune and xbox 360. my gamertag is BalluUp and ive shared with a couple of ten different friends and im more of a tech guy but do love music.

Hi, I'm Terry Gold.  My Zune arrived the first day they shipped from Amazon.com and I love it.  I tried the 14 day free Zune pass and got hooked.  My company is a Microsoft partner, so I'm sure I look biased, but really - the Zune is better than the iPod for me (I've owned 3 ipods) and I like the Zune software better than iTunes.  Not only do I like the device, I'm listening to (and paying for) more music than ever before.

Just noticed your bio Cesar - I love my Xbox too!

Hey, I'm Ben from building 42. My recent Zune triumph was hooking the video output into my car nav system. Check it out over at on10.net

http://on10.net/blogs/duncan/hooking-zune-up-to-a-monitor-in-car/

Full video output (for music, menus, etc) is easily my favorite feature. I'm a tech guy, but I saw Boy Least Likely To play at Chop Suey in Seattle a couple months ago and I've been addicted to them.

Howdy, I'm Zenek, hailing you all from Jacksonville Florida. I'm loving my Zune, it's my 1st MP3 player- and I'm glad I waited for it. (Also enjoying my Xbox 360, with HD Drive, Live, Camera, wireless controllers, and Kameo: Elements of Power!) Zunearts is a wonderful website and I hope that more's added to it soon. It really is all about finding new music for me, and Microsoft has really taken my attention from Nintendo too, as M RARELY puts our rubbish. (Actually nothing bad since before the 360's launch!) I'll send you a cool place for your MP3 Friday, Cesar. Long-time reader, glad to take that step into the Social.

-Zenek

Hey I'm Paul from Overland Park, KS.  I have a black Zune which I purchased on November 14th and couldn't be more excited to own it!  I have not found another Zune user locally, so if you are from the KC area, hit me up.  I am more of a music person and really like My Chemical Romance these days.

Oh and of course I own both the original Xbox and 360.

*High-5*

I'm Hanford. I'm in Sillicon Valley. I am a game designer, UI designer, and product designer. I've worked on some Mp3 players, most notably the Rio and a bit on the SoundBridge.  I'm frustrated with the state of the music playback industry; I don't see enough innovation in making things simpler, reducing button clicks, and overall breaking us out of the Artist/Album/Genre style of playback. I am hoping Zune helps break up the monotony. I don't own a Zune.

I'm in jackson, ms and I love my brown Zune! I love technology, but not as much as music you see...I have an XBOX and a 360. When will the zune marketplace have video?! I also would like to download talk radio to my zune!

I just purchased my Zune! I bought a black one and have loaded it up with my catalog - previously managed by iTunes. Everything sync'd up great and I've been enjoying my music more than ever!

I'm both a music and a tech person, but probably more tech these days than when I was younger. I am pro-Microsoft (I work for a Gold Certified Partner). We have an XBox in the house, but not an XBox 360.

I've been listening to a lot of Dave Matthews lately, as well as reaquainting myself with some old Styx CD's.

I'm located in KC and have a nice shot of Kauffman Stadium as the background on my Zune.
