New Background

Thanks to GP for the new background image!

And if you'd like to provide an image for the background, email me at askzune (then type the "at" symbol) microsoft.com. For me to pick it; it has to be PG, and big enough to fill the entire background on a 1280X1024 resolution monitor. Oh, and I have to like the picture.

Gapless playback

Matt

Cesar, I got one - This is my first full day in the states and mt friend had to go into work for a few hours.  I took the opportunity to get my gadget purchase out of the way! now I just need to find somewhere that will sell me a US cable for my external Hard Drive so that I can load it up wih my music lol!

So far, uber sweet - got it in brown of course, though it was close run with the black!

Anyway, sure i will find something to complain about soon

Cesar,

Is there some way to thread tracks together so that they will play sequentially during shuffle? For example, I would like to play classical music in the shuffle mode. However, I would like not to start at the first movement of a symphony and then sequentially go through all the movements before going on to the next symphony. Certain pop-music, like Dark Side of The Moon might also benefit from such a feature.

That and gapless playback will make playing classical music a pleasure with the Zune. Dropping the 3x3 rule for non-DRMed music would enhance the social. Maybe after that the Zune software could wirelessly sync the Zune device.

A minor nit that I can live with for now. There seems to be a problem when immediately after connecting to the Zune, you ask the Zune software to Sync. The album names and other fields are sometimes dropped. If you allow the Zune to automatically sync this does not occur.

I hope you guys ignore the iPhone and continue to make the MP3 player better, by adding features and adding more players (flash-based) to your lineup.

Regards,

Sudhir

hey cesar, i'm from ireland and i just want to say that as i went back to school last week i was shocked to see that some people had gotten zunes for christmas considering it's not even been released in europe! they all got theirs from ebay!   everyone was really interested in them and everyone conceded that it is way better than the ipod! i was even more surprised that anyone else knew about the zune cause there has been no media coverage of it over here. also most people think the iphone is an overpriced and overhyped gadget that does nothing "revolutionary" (like steve jobs says it does) because smartphones could do all the stuff it does anyway. i was shocked that the biggest ifanboy of all (nyt's pogue) had many negative things to say about it too.

also everyone with a zune check this program out:

http://www.zunerama.com/#061101_zune2_story

http://www.chikazune.com/

if only there were more programmes like this to make use of zunes wifi.

cesar if your reading this i think a browser for zunes wifi would be really cool (although it would be a bit awkward with the lack of a keypad)

also, is there any word on a europe release date?

sudhir - what's up! thanks for commenting on this site. Have you tried making a playlist with just the classical pieces you want, and then hitting shuffle on that?

Sudhir

Cesar,

In the shuffle mode the symphony will just sequence random movements together (sometimes in interesting order :-)). I would prefer that certain classical pieces be played in order. So now I don't use shuffle for classical music.

Sudhir
