"Additionally, NBC's Nightly News and Meet The Press are now available as video podcasts. They will be available at 10 pm eastern for nightly news and 1 pm eastern for sunday's meet the press. The podcasts are available without charge at podcasts.msnbc.com and at Apple's online Itunes store and the new Microsoft Zune download service."

So we'll be seeing some changes to Zune's software soon?

"Plug your Zune device into a friend's computer and use guest sync"

does this work like ipods sync. how it only puts the stuff from your library on the ipod, and you coudlnt go anywhere other than your house to put stuff on it. cuz that woudl be crappy if it did work like that.

im getting a zune for christman and my ipod nano serves me good, but i dont think that my computer could go through holding a 30gb library on it just for my zune. any suggestions/comments/etc.??

JustLikeIt

Yes, it works like iPod.

Only iPod doesn't work like you think. Both platforms allow you to use multiple computers to add and delete music from your device.

Warning: Using autosync with either device will cause all data on the device to be erased. You manually drag and drop media to your device when using multiple computers/libraries.

Meery Christmas/ Happy Holidays/ Seasons Greetings to Cesar and all the others at Zune Insider!

Bring on 2007:

Zune mk2 = thinner, touch screen (no buttons except hold!), keeping same body material but launch in more colours (non exclusive to the size on onboard flash memory a la iPOD!), full integration with xbox; media centre; vista, true wifi (please!!!) and undercut apple by $30 for same size iPOD (no-matter if zune has more features!)

Zune Aeon = as above just smaller in size and less flash memory (nano competitor)

XBOX mini = xbox handheld! Please! games for $40, or if u already own the xbox disc the games should only cost u $20. games on SD card (dont make sonys mistake of using a UMD type soloution. learn from nintendo that its interactivity, uniqueness, and variety of games that sells the device and NOT a name i.e. SONY! or have them as direct downloads to flash HD in device using xbox and the market place as the HUB.

I like to browse my music by Genre.  It drives me nuts that when you select a Genre, the albums are listed instead of the artists.  I would much prefer the artists to be listed under Genre, i.e. Genre>Alternative>Nirvana.  In addition, there are some other things that would be nice:

In addition to the items under the Music menu (<Albums>, <Artists>, <Genre>, <Playlists), I would like to see <Sub-Genre>.  This would be handy if you have music that can fit under more than one genre and you want it in both places.

It would be nice if albums could be listed in year order under an artist instead of alphabetical.

It would be greate to have Favorites so you can isolate all of your favorite artists.

To: ChrisS

I like having the Albums displayed after selecting Genre, since the Album Artist is also displayed next to the Album name.  Pretty easy to find stuff and it's similar to what the desktop Zune does.  But I can see your point.  I guess it would be a cool option, as long as it was optional.  Yes, selectable sort would be nice, too.

The Zune Software can use multiple genres per track now, so no need to confuse matters more with sub-genres.  It's a shame the Zune only uses the first Genre, etc. currently.  Not sure if they can fix this very easily... I think it might be an issue with the (poor) MTP standard I'm sure Zune's sync is based on.  We can hope they improve/fix this stuff.  (Look at all the missing metadata when browsing your Zune device from the Zune Software... can't see bitrate, year, etc... and sorting is a bit hosed.)

ChrisS

Thanks for the response.  I didn't know the Zune software was able to have multiple Generes for each track.  That is really cool.  It would be awesome if the Zune would recognize both like the software does.  That and have the albums listed by year (or have an option to).  Here's hoping.

To: ChrisS

Yes, put semi-colons between the multiple entries for Genres, Contributing Artists, Composers, etc. in the Zune Software UI... and they will treated as individuals in the database.  WMP 11 does the same thing.  It's quite cool and I wish all media players & formats supported multiple entries.
