Seems the internal-only-yet-leaked spoof video is causing quite a stir on the internets. And with that comes some bad information about Zune. But fear not, the internet: here are the ways you can get your music loaded. First off, the Zune software will automatically import all your unprotected mp3, wma, and aac content when you load it up. When that's done, to get music loaded, you can:
- Rip a CD
- Get the song from Zune Marketplace, which itself gives you two options:
- Buy the song individually for 79 Microsoft Points.
- Get a monthly subscription for unlimited downloads - but when your subscription ends, then you lose the music. (this is actually my preferred method)
- And you can actually sync content directly from ZMP. That is, drag and drop content from the store, hit sync, and Zune will automatically purchase, download and sync the content to your device.
- Someone can send you the song via wireless As seen in this spoof. Songs you receive get three days or three plays; at the endof that, your Zune player will keep, Zune will retain the metadata on the track. You can also flag tracks that you receive and they show up in your inbox
- Plug your Zune device into a friend's computer and use guest sync.
- And last but certainly not not awesome: MP3 Friday!
In other news, I'm not in the office today because of the windstorms. I'm working from home. And by working from home, I of course mean playing Gears of War.
