Ok, I just finished emailing back and forth with the guy who heads up the support team for Zune (what's up Nabil!). I didn't actually know the warranty info, so I thought I'd ask and post the answer.  

When you buy a Zune device, you'll have a 1 year warranty. This includes unlimited support calls on the hardware and the software. A link with more details will be live tomorrow on Zune.net

Wow, because one person installing software on a pre-release OS means we need to use the warranty! Way to post!

The screen on my Zune has a pressure crack, i bought it about 2 months ago and i was wondering if Microsoft would return my Zune for another. The music still plays but the screen is messed up. I know Apple would not return an Ipod if the outerwear is broken, they only replace the Ipod is the softwear is broken. Thanks Kev

i bought my zune about a month ago and all of a sudden it started freezing and erased all my songs can i return it for a new one?

Purchased Zune (2)two months ago and it's been great. A few day's ago for one reason or another the device will not turn off. I press and hold on/off button for 3 seconds as instructed and it appears to go off until I touch any other button and it's back to on mode. This of course is draining my battery very quick. Any thoughts on how I should proceed   Thanks

I got mine less than a year ago. my warranty is not up, but my device broke. no one touched it i made sure it was ok. i got home and found out that it was broke the screen cracked. i got on the internet and found out that a lot of peoples screens are cracking. they will not replace it what do i do?

I updated my ZUNE about 15 min ago. And for some reason or another my screen is all weird it looks like if I had just totally smashed it or something like the hard drive crashed or something. I have know clue on what to do at this point not to sure if I should take it back to wear I bought it or if I should call someone about it. Really all I want to know is whats wrong with it who do I take it to to be fixed and if their is any way passable for the people at Microsoft to replace it for me. If anybody reads this and has a answer to my problem pleas let me know as soon as you can. Thank You.

I bought my Zune less than a year ago. my warranty is not up, I took it out of my coat pocket and noticed that the screen was cracked and can not see the display now. It was a cool night, has anyone had this problem? Will the warranty cover it?

my iPod just recently broke... I was freaking out due to lack of music to keep me focused, so I hastily bought a Zune off of eBay. it started freezing up and wouldn't play songs, videos, or slideshows... i've had it for about a month now and doubt the seller will want it back.

the warranty definitely won't apply for ebay buyers, will it? I feel lost...

My son went to use his Zune today and found his screen to be cracked also.  He has only had it 1 month.  Will Microsoft replace his Zune?  Does anyone know who we need to contact?

so heres my deal i have little siblings and my littlest brother was sitting in his high chair at the table and he knocked my zune off the tabel and now it wont turn on and idk what to do seriously iam freaking out.is there really a warranty?

I've had my zune for about i dont know maybe since  november and it just started freezing up after i had to delete this stuff off of it and each time i did it, it only deleted 2 gigs this was via the software and then i formatted it and i think doing both made the hardrive corrupt and freezes when i look at pictures or play songs from my social inbox. each time i try to sync it says zune is not responding im going to send it in but they said it would take a month for it to be sent and come back. well i asked for a new usb cord cause mine was messed up they said it would take 2 weeks just sent from them and it took 2 months plus talking to customer support for over an hour and get nowhere can really drive u nuts.

Bought a zune for my son on x-mas, the screen is blacked out, tried all the suggested trouble shooting methods nothing is working. Hopefully the warranty will cover, please advise on what to do next.

I have had my zune for awhile now and the other day on easter. i took it to my grandmothers house and it worked fine, but then later when we were leaving i turned it on and noticed that the screen was black but i could still barely see the album art in the background. and it isnt cracked at all. i know i didnt drop it, i kept in my car the whole time. what do you think i should do

well, Ive had my zune for about 6 months or so, and i have to say I love it, no real problems for me, I have to give M$ props for a job very well done... (better than the x-box or 360 IMO)

however I assumed that I only had a 90 day warranty till i looked it up since i have been pretty bored tonight, but knowing that I have a full 6 months left gives me some serious peace of mind.

and hey, Cody, call zune tech support, they should replace it for you... your back light went out so thats on them, not your fault at all... dont let them tell you otherwise, just keep pushing till they agree to take it to fix. and back up all the stuff you have on it to your computer if its not on there already.

so some products have something where if you dont like it you can get a full refund. is that possible with a zune? i've had it for 6 months, and it was the biggest piece of crap i've ever used and i just want my ipod back.

I Bought a Zune from Target and it worked fine, but when I took the sync cable out of my zune it took out some of the pins and stopped working completly! So I called Target's costumer survice and they siad they would take it back and give my money back!

I reccomend to people with Zune problems to call wherever they bought their Zune from and see if they will give your money back.

My zune completely froze while i was working out. It was just sitting nice and safe in the mp3 compartment and all of a sudden it just cut off and was sitting there with  the zune logo. Then about an hour later it just went black. I called zune this morning and we went through all the trouble shooting methods and it didn't work so she told me to go on the website and request one of those repair orders. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS!!! I feel like a piece of me has died since i have no access to my zune. Please help.

I bought 2 30GB Zunes from Consumer Depot on 08/07.  One has stopped working and the other one has a problem with the battery keeping a charge more than a half hour.  What do I do to get them serviced/replaced?
