Sooo. . . How have you beeee'eeeen?

I'm back from LA. I was going to draft up a comprehensive review of our LA event, but I would instead direct you to these Zune site reactions. 'Rama, The Scene, and The Sphere all post their impressions of the LA press/industry event. I'm highlighting them in case you havent' seen them. Rama posts 15 questions to Zune answered. And the Scene posts a great video of the event. Check it out!

I'm not crazy about the use of "Evan's essence" music (I keed, I keed), but hey, great vid!

You can find other Zune-specific reviews, too.  (NYT, CNet; WSJ, International Herald Tribune)  all post reviews (although you've probably already seen these).

Highlight of my trip: meeting Lady Sov!
I posted about her before. She rocks.

Some Interesting Statistics from my trip:

  • Number of times people asked me for directions in NYC: approx. 15
  • Number of times I asked for directions in NYC: approx. 1500
  • Number of zune  hits on technorati:  46,188 (and counting)
  • Number of times I heard "that's a big screen" approx 40
  • Number of times I heard "does it play may iTunes"
    • (answer: yes, Zune will import all your unprotected AAC files, and add album art (when available)
  • Number of times I gave high-five(!): approx 2190
  • Number of times I heard "wow it looks a lot better in person:" approx 30
  • Number of times I went up for the high-five and got denied: approx 10
  • Number of times I played "The Nature of the Experiment" on repeat: approx 3000.
  • Number of times I walked by the filming of a Snoop Dogg video: 1.

Ok, have fun at the Zune launch parties! Which one you guys going to?

The LA event was great.  I had no idea what to expect and had a blast, Element is a decent spot, but you guys did it up well.  Bitter:Sweet was awesome.  Definately convinced my coworkers to get some Zunes, we all are counting down.

Thanks for the hookup, now the question is, how can I get into RHCP tomorrow? :)

SEATTLE HERE WE COME!

glad to see you are back.

only 2/1 more day/s!

( depending on when you are reading this )

can't wait to get mine!

btw Zune software rocks but.... wmp11 > Zune in looks and file management. Although the changes are staring to grow on me.

you met Lady Sovereign! lucky

-Evan

i sync'ed up my zune to my music library and it removed the pre-installed music, video and pictures

how can i get these tracks back?

So...I didn't know where to post this, but I was just wondering if you guys are going to put out models bigger than 30g? I've been using a 60g iPod that's been packed for the longest and am intending to pick up their new 80g model.

However, if you guys plan on putting out an 80g model, i'll most definitely give it a try..

I'm thinking of getting some video clips of TI and replacing the audio with Evan's Essence.

.... just kidding.  I listened to TI on my 20GB Archos Gmini on the plane to Atlanta (because I have no Zune!!!) and it was great, can't wait to see him live.

PS what is the venue and when?  I guess we'll find out.

well, i know this maybe a bit off topic, but i was wondering if you could say this to microsoft for me or something.

About the share 3 per play thing, if you have a zune pass, shouldnt you be able to just keep the song? just a thought that woyuld make a lot of people happier

Microsoft's iPod competitor, Zune, will be released on November 14.

Microsoft's iPod competitor, Zune, will be released on November 14.

Do you know Microsoft company will release zune player, but http://www.dvdtozuneconverter.com already released

convert zune software. is it really?

Cesar - it was great meeting ya in LA. We had tons of fun down at the preview party in LA.. hey it helps having loads of free drinks too :)

One more day till the launch!

Awesome! I'd have loved to walk by a Snoop Dogg video (if only to be the random dancing in the background :P )

I can't wait for Zune! Ima head to Singapore in my holidays and pick one up there, being a poor deprived Aussie and all *sniffles*

But anyway! I'm sure the kangaroos will love the music just as much as everywhere else... a few friends of mine are scoffing at me for going Microsoft, but we'll see who's laughing when I get back to work! :D

Glad to hear you had a great time. Will look forward to more updates as releases and amateur reviews come out!

Cheers,

Izzzie.

Looking forward to my Zune so I can unload the pre-loaded stuff and put my Evanescence on there.

I find it misleading for you to answer "yes" when someone asks, "Will it play my iTunes?" In my experience, common usage labels the DRM-wrapped files purchased from the iTunes Store "iTunes," while the open-format music files are called "MP3s."

What you've said in your complete answer is *technically* accurate, but very misleading. Even though Michael Moore has made millions with this tactic, I think it's in poor taste to mislead your (potential) customers this way. If somebody bought a Zune after hearing that, expecting it to play dozens (or hundreds) of songs they purchased from iTunes, you will have created a very angry customer. If the Zune is the long-term project that Microsoft says it is, you will do much better by earning the respect of your (potential) customers.

I forgot to add something. While I found your "iTunes" answer misleading, I applaud you for linking to several reviews of the Zune in the mainstream media, even including a few that are less than glowing. THAT's one of the ways you earn the respect of your (potential) customers. Cheers ...

Do you know Microsoft company released zune player, in http://www.zunevideoconverter.net released

convert zune software.

get an 80g Zune and I'll be the first to buy it where I live
