Can I not leave you guys alone for five minutes** without a rumor starting? As I told my stalker buddy Jason at Gizmodo yesterday:

I can tell you that we have no plans to pay people to share songs sent via Zune to Zune sharing.

**Ok fine, it's been 5 days since I posted last, not 5 minutes ;)

yeah I knew that was fake when I saw it, just like the rumor of a $99 dollar zune ( w/ 2 year commitment to zune marketplace ). it sounded good in theory, but wouldn't work in reality.
I agree its a great idea in theory but I wonder if anyone can pull something like that off properly. Tthere are simply to many varaibles involved in something like that for it to go off smoothly. Cesar, please check your emails from ZuneMAX
That was one of those too good to be true, or made too much sense to be true type things...
Maybe Bill Gates should team up with AOL (again) to add tracking to the Zune sharing and pay us for that too. :) ~ddv
Umm mzune team: DONT IGNORE THIS RUMOR, look at the interest it sparked!!!!! Fromw hat i read in forums it was recieved as an awesome concept! BTW whats the deal with the loss of Zune DJ??????????????????? First no on device via wifi store (pcless), then no wifi syncing, and now no wifi dj???? WTF is going on you guys are missing allt he cool wifi features you could implement wtf is going on ????????????????????
LOL their arent too many THINGS TO TRACK, they already keep track of the songs you've shared and they know most likely which ZuneTag shared it with you, so its as simple as if i buy song that was shared to me by zunetag X then zunetag X gets xxx points for referral! it works for google with adsense why not for music with zune!
Seriously the Zune was kind of a "meh" until I heard about the pay rumor. It seemed far more forward thinking than anything else the device has going for it. Sad to see that this was just a rumor. Chris as right - look at the interest this sparked. How could you not do this?

my comment; do not ignore the rumour. it is true but seems to be not worht the interest with da Zune. seen it, played with it and it rulez.
