I got a list of retailers where you can buy a Zune on November 14. As I said in an interview w/ our friends at Zunescene today: "We're confident that retailers will have solid availability, and any consumer who wants to purchase a Zune will be able to do so." Which retailers you might ask? Check it:

EB Games
Target
Best Buy
Costco

Fry's
Amazon
Meijer
Staples
Transworld
Toys R Us
Circuit City
Office Max
Office Depot
Wal-Mart
Kmart
GameStop
Sears
Nebraska Furniture Mart
J&R Computer World
Virgin Megastore (select locations)
Brookstone
CarToys
Sharper Image

So there you have it; a lot of retailers are excited to sell Zune this holiday season. I'm sure other retailers will be added over time, and as they are, I'll add them. And lastly: happy shopping, friends, happy shopping.

Edit: Wednesday 11:50 PDT - fixed links; added Sharper Image

I'll most likely walk into a Gamestop and pick up a Zune with Gears of War and Viva Pinata. I believe they're all out on the same date. Then, the HD-DVD drops on the 30th I believe... This is my kind of holiday season.
yeah I will be picking mine up at Gamestop. i didn't think Gamestop sold mp3 players though. You guys would be the first. ( well except for the psp, which is an mp3 player ) but you would be the first *only* media player that doesn't have games. speaking of which... just out of curiosity, any chance the next Zune will have Live anywhere? so I could play some arcade games and manage my stuff and ingame content etc. That would be awesome, and would be a system seller for many 360 owners.
Hey, just for your info, you linked the best buy link to costco as well.....yea. but on a happier note thanks for the list of retailers!
A question - will you be able to play movies that you purchase thru the Amazon Unbox Video service on the Zune?
Nice, I'm glad to hear this. At least there won't be any shortages this season! http://ZuneBoards.com
Thanks for the interview, kudos for MS giving attention to blogs, forums and other such community sites. For a minute I thought Ellen had cornered the market.
I guess this info is nice to have... But honestly, didn't everyone assume that the nation's largest retailers would carry the Zune? I don't see what the big fuss is about...I mean how many people care that Nebraska Furniture Mart is going to be carrying the Zune remote? -Charlie
Some links are broken. BestBuy - Costco Office Max through KMart Nebraska Furniture Mart - J&R Computer World If I wasn't a broke ass college student, I would pick one up!!! :( If there was like something where you could trade in your iPod for a Zune, I would gladly take it!
Are we going to see any Zunes up in Canada? Is this really going to be US only and if so how long?
Me again, I'm asking about stock up here because I see Amazon.ca selling Zune books. Wouldn't make sense to sell The Zune Pocket Guide and Zune for Dummies if the Zune wasn't going to be available in Canada?! I'm I right?
http://www.roughlydrafted.com/RD/Home/9F60D74A-0E27-4F5F-B88D-835974628809.html Roughly Drafted says that Zune won't be able to play video right out of the box. Is this true?
Will there be Zune in Europe?
OH DEAR GOD ..... ADMIN U NEED TO READ TIS http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/portable-media/penny-arcade-on-the-zunes-wifi-205174.php LMFAO ... the sad thing is its true im gonna cry :( But i'd add that theirs no RSS or Podcast support in marketplace apparently uggh
i plays video, they just wont be SELLING video at launch via the marketplace.
With all these limitations, why bring it out now? This concept is becoming more and more like the failed Origami/UMPC marketing. I know it's version 1, but you shouldn't bring a device out that isn't up to the level your current competitor is at. For example, the wifi feature should be able to do more than trade DRMed songs or photos. Even the PSP can grab their firmware updates through wifi. The Zune should be able to at least sync with the PC without the USB cable. I'm not blasting the Zune team or concept, I really like the idea of this over the iPod, but it's not turning out so far to be a real competitor. Just my thoughts after reading the above linked stories.
That'ssss GRRREEAATT. Now I can trade in my PSP @ gamestop. woot woot
theres no future shop on that list..like wtf is that?
If I get one from the US, will I be able to use it with the Zune Store, once it opens in the UK next year??
The landscape video feature is going to be great. http://www.onestopzuneshop.com
I'm surprised Radio Shack isn't on the list. Any chance you can get those guys to also sell Zunes?
Sharper Image doesn't know if it would be carrying Zune..... Do you think it would on Nov 14?

I purchased a Zune MP3 for my wife recently (November 2007). I did so because I had heard good things about the product and the price was right. My problem is the only accessory I could find was a car charger, That was at an Office Max. None of the other stores you have listed (and we have in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area) seem to carry accessories specific to Zune on any regular basis. I would like an in-home dock, an AC charger (wasn't included with the unit), belt clip or arm band holder, and perhaps other items. If you know where Zune products can be found in my area please let me know. Looks like your marketing department isn't doing such a hot job to me.

Hey where can i get one in London???

I reacently bought a zune  8 meg of course ,i live in northern california placerville to be exact.a short time ago i lost my usb cable i went to kmart, walmart, office max,and eb games.they informed me microsoft recalled and discontiued all zune players and all the accesorys, one question WHY?? you think a big corperation like microsoft would be ahead of any issues such as this ........what is going on?????? frustrated zune owner

Please update this website.  Most of those stores don't even carry Zunes anymore.
